John S. Burvainis, 66, of Lincoln, passed away June 21, 2015. Born October 18, 1948 in Kearney, NE to John S. and Zelda (Day) Burvainis. Deputy Director, State of Nebraska, Public Service Commission. Served in U.S. Army. Grew up and graduated from Broken Bow High School and Kearney State College. Taught school at Diller High School.
Family members include wife, Peggy; son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Stacey Thomas; grandchildren, Breanna & Tyler Thomas, Kaden & Hunter Burge; sister, Meg Burvainis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Warren "Butch" & Connie Lyon; nieces & nephews, Chris & Rebekah Lyon, Josh & Amy Lyon, Mitchell & Sarah Lyon; 5 great nieces & nephews, Sam, Max, Ruby, Norah & Jack; Grandma V., Vera Burchett; numerous Aunts, Uncles & Cousins; many, many friends.
