As told to me by Larry's brother, Todd.   Larry passed away on December 7, 1004 from Mantle Cell Lymphona after being diagnosed the previous April.  He was part of the U of MN program to donate his own marrow but his time ran out.  After HS he scored high on the US Naval Academy- Annapolis; but changed his mind about aviation and went to UW.  After graduating with majors in electrical and computer engineering, he worked for Texas Instruments, Contral Data, IBM, Honeywell and 3M, which he was eventually recruited by a subsidiary of Honeywell - Alliant Tech to develop highly classified weapons sytems for the Department of Defense.  He was head engineer at Alliant until his death.  He is survived by his three boys (all of whom attended and graduated from college).

Larry's parents were friends of my parents, I believe through a church connection. I remember there were summer weekends when they would visit at our cottage near Shawano. His dad was a Naval aviator, so the Navy connection has a "real" context.

My husband died of  (very sudden onset) colon cancer in May,1998; to think of Larry also dying of cancer a few years later is very sad. Obviously he had a wonderful career; his children have great memories, I'm sure, of a wonderful dad.
