Hi Everyone. Hope you're planning on attending our 50th Class Reunion because it's going to be a lot of fun. John Stewart and I have volunteered to co-host the event and have worked out a few thoughts for the reunion so just want to keep you informed.
Friday, September 30th, Homecoming. Begin our reunion by having a tour of BCHS sometime in the afternoon. I know it has changed over the years with a pool being added, new gym, and who knows what else. It will be fun to see if anyone can find their old locker (and remember the combination?). Walking the halls ought to be really fun. Then we hope to attend the Homecoming football game as a group. Maybe the announcers will even recognize the group. Then after the game we'll head for Marty's Pizza for anyone who wants to attend.
Saturday, October, 1st. At some local hotel (location yet to be determined) we'll have a nice dinner probably starting around 7 PM. We're looking into getting some entertainment/band and maybe some of you can sing or entertain in some fashion. We'll gather with our significant others and enjoy the evening together remembering the past, telling each other about our terribly successful lives, bragging about our kids, showing off pictures of our cars, pets and grandkids, and introducing our significant others. We'll figure out a nice menu and will try to keep the cost as low as possible. I'll try to work with the director of sales at the hotel to see if we can get a special room rate for those of us who are coming from out of town and need a place to stay.
Sunday, October 2nd. Picnic Time. Probably around 11AM or so we'll gather at some local park (yet to be determined, and weather permitting) to have a big picnic. Families will be encouraged to attend. If there is a ball field close we'll have a pick-up softball game. Nothing structured yet so we're open for ideas.
We're looking for those of you who live in the Brookfield/Elm Grove/local area to help out since John and I both live out of state. We'd love to have as many of our classmates attend the reunion as possible and need help locating folks getting the word out. We'd also appreciate any help anyone who is willing to help with the planning/arrangements. Many hands make light work, or something like that. Drop either of us a note and I promise we'll respond. John Stewart - stewartassocaia@aol.com or Fred Mason - fpmasonco@gmail.com
So, those are the tentative plans. Hoping to hear from you with your offers to help or ideas. And looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
Fred and John
