I went onto the Internet to try to find out when, how, etc. Jim Tice passed away.  Did not find anything.

If he was the same person I think he was, we actually lived just a few houses away from each other in Brookfield.  And, as I recall, his dad was the Superintendent of Schools--a position which I actually don't even really know of what it consists--though I have a suspicion that being the son of one likely had its drawbacks.

Jim Tice moved into the area in third grade, and initially lived on Watertown Plank Road a few blocks from the village of Elm Grove.  His dad was indeed the Superintendant of schools.  He played catcher on our Little League Team and was hard-nosed and reliable.  My vague memory is that he was diagnosed with schizophrenia and died (possibly committed suicide) many years ago.  I have fond memories of Jim.

Jim Tice. A good guy lost too early. One of the nicest people I met in high school. However, on the football field he was an animal. He tackled me once during a pick-up football game on a downtown beach in Milwaukee. All I remember was how fast he was for his size and how hard he hit me. At the same time, he was very humbled to be chosen an All-Conference defensive player senior year. "I wasn't that good," he told me in the hall one day. Yeah you were, Jim. And not just at football.
