After high school, I went to Ball State and earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. My first career started teaching kindergarten at Anderson Christian School in Anderson, IN. I always wanted to move back to Indy area, and after teaching in Anderson for 7 years, I got a job teaching kindergarten part time at an east side IPS school. That was a bad idea, and I hated teaching in that school system. Since I was unable to find another teaching job, I decided to go back to school to try something different. I went to Harrison College and earned an Associate's in Medical Reimbursement Techology (medicaid billing & coding). Through an externship at Cummins Behavioral Health, I got my foot in the door and have been with Cummins since July 2010. I used to work at the Lebanon office as a front desk consumer access rep, now I am in Avon working at our Business Office in Centralized Access in the Prestwick area. We answer phones for all our locations, schedule appts, and take care of verifying insurance benefits for our consumers (patients).
