I was hired by the US Border Patrol in Dec. 1964 and worked around the country, Calif., Tex.,Puerto Rico, Toronto Canada for 4 years and finished up back in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Marge and I enjoyed every place we lived but we came back to WNY by choice. I do regret that two of my kids are a long ways off for work reasons. Andy in Poughkeepsie, and Alex in San Francisco. Kristy lives in her childhood home on Grand Island. Our son Adam is a handicapped guy who is 30 and began living in a group home this past summer. One of the joys of relocating back in WNY was the opportunity to reconnect with a bunch of old high school friends and become really close with them. I can report that Mike D., Mary Z.,Sandy W. Ruthie H. Alvin P., Gordy K, Gary B., Corky M., Terry R. Chuck M. look the same as the day they walked out of 319 Suffolk Ave. and believe it or not, we're all still married to our originals
School Story:
Gord K. and I still get together for a round of golf once in a while and a few years ago we had a visit from Gary B. from Calif. We took him to play at Grover Cleveland. We loved it. The county had taken it over and it's a nice course. Gordy goes by the name Heinz (named for his 57 varieties of basketball shots) and we call Gary Smiley.(While pitching for Ken he would throw a high , hard one and keep that smile on his face) He can still hit a 300 yard drive but can't chip or putt, Kinda like baseball where he could throw hard but couldn't hit a lick and ran like a cement truck. We had a good time.
