Marsha It is not to late to order aCDSend a check to POBox 83 Kenmore NY 14223  for $10. Any other classmates whom would like to order please do so by the end of September. I would like all the people that came to rhe reunion. After working on the committee for a year it was very gratifying to see such success.thanks for all the responses on how great it was. I heard from several people that were there from other classes and they said that we blew away their reunions. After losing my right leg last year I needed something to do and working on the reunion gave me a lot of pleasure and satisfaction for the way it all came together. My thanks to the girls on the committee for the table decorations and the key chains. Again My heartfelt Thank you to all the Class of 64.

Thanks for the posts about ordering the CD.  I wasn't at the reunion so it will be nice to see highlights of the event.

For all those that remember classmate Pat Skelly (Theet), please keep her and her family in your prayers.  Pat's husband, Ray Theet, passed away suddenly on Monday.  Ray was a beloved business teacher with the KenTon School district for many years.  The funeral is tomorrrow at 11 am from a funeral home on Genesee St. in Lockport, NY (sorry I don't remember the name).

We are still talking about the reunion.  Since I had not been to any reunions anywhere, I was not sure what it was going to be like.  My wife was astounded at how well everything was handled.

Renee grew up in St. Helena / Napa in California, but when I drove her through the Village of Kenmore, she said it looked just like Napa. She also could not believe how green and lush everything was. As we drove to my cousin's home in Newfane, she kept saying "I can't believe this gets all covered up with snow!"

It was nice to come home, even though I have called Texas home for many years.  It was nice to see old friends and acquaintances. It was enjoyable to once again explore the simple pleasures of charcoal broiled hot dogs (Ted's are good but Brinson's were better) and Loganberry, beef on 'Weck, and sitting beside the Niagara River in Tonawanda. (lots of submarine races).

I found out about Larry Kling's Stagecoach salsa, and it really is better than any I have tasted anywhere!  And I am fussy about good food.

When I prepare a gourmet meal or dessert, I put my heart into it, because it is one of my many passions. The committee obviously did the same in preparing this reunion, and I have no doubt that other classes will never duplicate what you did.  We used to say "Bravo Zulu!" Well done!

I'd like to again thank the reunion organizers for their wonderful and successful efforts on the reunion. I had a marvelous  time. I'd also like to thank everyone for their kind and encouraging words about Stagecoach Salsa. I though you'd all like to know that a few day ago, Chile Pepper Magazine, THE publication for those of us in this industry, awarded Stagecoach and its sister company, Trailrider, a total of 7 Chile Pepper Awards. The Spicy Salsa Ranch you all tried took Best Salad Dressing for 2014 AND Best New Product for 2014. The Smoke & Fire Salsa, Dick Moosie's favorite, Took Best Chipotle Salsa.  Thanks everyone for the great support.

So I guess that means the CDs are on their way?  That would be awesome.  One of our graduates was unable to attend the reunion due to health issues and am very much looking forward to visiting him with CD in hand to share some of the memories we made together at the reunion. The sooner the better!!

yikes - our 70th birthdays - how did that happen?

10/12/14 10:47 AM #272

Ann Coleman (Oelheim)

But has anyone else realized that 70 today isn't the 70 we remember as kids?  We are more active and more in tune with the times than our grandparents were at that age.  It's not the number of years we've been on this earth - it's how we act and feel!  As for me.....maybe 50?  Or 40?

Sarah Kennedy (Domster)

Ann,

My mind tells me I'm in my 30's or 40's but my body says, "Oh no you're not!"  I am grateful for every good, productive day I have since neither of my parents lived as long as I have.  As long as I can keep moving and doing, I will - just not as fast.

I would have met for a coffee or a Beef on Weck, while I was in town, but I left a week ago Tuesday morning. I had three while I was home, one for each week I was there.  The BEST one was at Charlie the Butchers, so I brought two back with me.  Better luck next time I'm in town, in meeting up with anyone.

I really enjoyed seeing the pictures on the "Few Reunion Disk" since everyone's name was with their picture.  Really helps after 50 years!  Can I still order a CD?

Rita, Send your money to the PO box. It might be a week to get it to you IF they haven't run out of the few that were left. If they are out then it might be a few weeks but you will definitely get one. Dick Wightman

Dick, I haven't received my CD yet though I ordered it at the reunion and handed in my $10. Do you know when it might be sent out? I am really looking forward to it.

Great idea Marge regarding the Alumni open tent night next year – yes, we should all plan to be there. The Alumni Association is going to have the tent set up at the Dome Restaurant on Friday, August 7, 2015. The class of 65’s reunion is planned for the previuos Saturday, August 1st, so many of that class may still be in town. And now that the tent is back in the town, more graduates are likely to attend. It is open to anyone who ever attended or graduated from Kenmore West (or Kenmore High).
