Erica, I think that they should still have some paddles in the school and these teachers might not have such a hard time with some students. I know Ms. Savage's once and last paddling for me was all it took. It taught me a lot. LOL
My kids have been very good in school but Zachary beat up a kid in 1st grade and I mean he beat him up (no blood or anything) and the principle called his dad and me and said she couldn't punish him cause Zach was soo sweet and the other kid was in the wrong, but we actually made them punish Zach because there was a NO Tolerance Rule at the school and Zach couldn't go around beating up the bad guys.
My daughter punched a girl in the face last year in her 7th grade year when a girl pushed Makayla up against the wall and Makayla yelled at her "watch it" and this girl proceeded to get in Makayla's face and "curse" her and My makayla is a very sweet girl, but you don't "curse" her or her friends and she lost her temper and punched her. I felt sooo bad....but even her principle, Dr. Justus, told us that it was witnessed by two other teachers and they had to turn their heads cause they were cracking up. I was like what is going on with these teachers....even though it might somehow be not all Makayla's fault, but I'm teaching my kids they can't go around hitting people...so again we made the principle put her in in-school suspension.
That's the only 2 incidents with my kids...they really are great!!! LOL......They are just pretty tough but we still try to make the consequences stick...you know?
