I remember hanging out Mrs. Brady's window and looking in the bushes that Joe(y) was referring too and seeing Kresha Allen and Robert Thomason kissing. Kresha was Chad's girlfriend at the time and I ratted her out to Chad. Funny. I also remember loving taking names. I laugh inside when I see kids in the school where I work today with their little clip boards watching the class.

I absolutely loved Mrs. Brady. She teaches at Buford Middle now and I so hope my kids get her.

I don't know if I'd want to paddle or not. There are times I think I'd like to but it's so hard to know what's going on at home and if that's the reason for the behavior. I have however thought before if I could get one kid real good at the beginning of the year, it would scare the foolishness out of the most of the rest! Ha Ha!

Why didn't I take Home Ec or Family and Consumer Sciences as its known today? Y'all seemed to have too much fun! I'd also like to be able to sew something other than a button!

I can cook though. I just choose not to according to the hubby.

I also have a memory of the first time meeting Jodi Curtis in the 4th grade I think. She was selling those pencils that had a furry head on the end that when you spun the pencil in your hands the hair went crazy. Does anyone else remember that?

Why is Jodi not on here? I told her at VBS that she needed to get here. This thing is addictive.

I got married in Family Living or something. Mitch and Tracy Frix broke up just before the wedding and I have to marry John Everett's sister.

Everyone did my cooking for me. Topsy (Mrs. Puckett) gave me a good grade, but she kept her eye on me all the time.

Cindy I found a pic of us with Ms. Puckett at a FHA convention and it's you, me, Ava Smith and Ms. Pucket...we are looking sooo fine. I have on that pink formal dress I wore in the Ms. Buford Pagent (still don't know why I didn't win, gosh!!!) and you have on this bright red dress with a white ribbon on the sleeves and one on in the front. LOL

Does anyone know how I can get this pics scanned and then loaded on here.

I have many of me, Cheryl and Michelle in the bathroom. What was up with that???

Hey does everyone remember the big circles in the front of the high school...it had one semi-circle bench around the wall. I just found pics of us sitting there too.

Maybe I need to find more pics and my memory will start coming back!!!

Did anyone have Coach Hanson and remember when we watched Gone with the Wind? I remember being so upset that we had to watch that "stupid" movie and now it's one of my favorites...I have to watch it once a year....and I've begged my kids to watch it and they still have not finished it with me yet!!!

Hey Starla talking about bathrooms in the high school did the girls bathroom have doors on the stalls because the boys did not. I remember if I had to go do number two I always went to the one in the gym.

I have pics of us in the boys bathroom too. LOL

I guess we had a thing about the bathrooms.

Hey, for all your prayer warriors out there....My sweet baby girl needs your prayers for healing on her ear. She's had ear infections since she was 3 months old and now she's 14 and still gets them bad. But this one is the worst. We are suppose to leave for the beach on Sunday but she's had a very bad ear infection since last Sunday and we went to the ENT yesterday and he literally said "her ear canal is tore up"...uggghhh...it's bleeding and so bad they can't see her ear drum....so we are waiting till Monday am to see the doc again and he will pull the "wick" out of her ear and see if it's better and take a look at her ear drum. She's already had 4 surgeries on her ears and she is just in a lot of pain. So Dolores and all you others that Pray...please remember Makayla and her "ear" in your prayers!!!

So appreciate it!!!

Natalie Clark (Mitchell)

So sorry about MaKayla's ear. I will pray for her.

Speaking of Coach Hanson, does anyone remember the nickname he gave me?

06/13/08 05:49 PM #436

Laura Simpson (Kell)

Starla, I will pray for Makayla too.

What was the nickname?

Remember Coach Walton? I think he flunked all of 10th grade (?) in history. He actually headbutted one day! I'g get sued today!

06/13/08 05:54 PM #437

Starla Smith (Johnson)

Natalie, you know I can't remember :o)

I do remember most of my "sweet" classmates calling me Starfish and Starcat.

And Patrick...I think you said earlier "cathead"...I remember all my poooor bad "walmart" tennies my parents had to buy me and everyone calling them my cathead shoes!!! How embarrassing.....:o( LOL

I do remember a funny story about Jody Curtis...we were all in gym changing clothes and freshening up and I asked Jody to let me borrow her mascara and she almost "hit me", she lashed out and said no, no I'm sorry but I don't like anyone using my makeup or hair brushes....I felt so bad, felt like I had the plague. LOL

06/13/08 05:55 PM #438

Erica Martin

Hey I remember Walton. He was a real hoot. He always had that stupid overhead.

Joey, would you believe in Stephens County we still paddle. It is with parental consent and only by administration (thank goodness), but it does still go on.

06/13/08 06:04 PM #439

Joey Dean

Hey Erica do you still have that pet skunk?

06/13/08 06:06 PM #440

Starla Smith (Johnson)

Erica, I think that they should still have some paddles in the school and these teachers might not have such a hard time with some students. I know Ms. Savage's once and last paddling for me was all it took. It taught me a lot. LOL

My kids have been very good in school but Zachary beat up a kid in 1st grade and I mean he beat him up (no blood or anything) and the principle called his dad and me and said she couldn't punish him cause Zach was soo sweet and the other kid was in the wrong, but we actually made them punish Zach because there was a NO Tolerance Rule at the school and Zach couldn't go around beating up the bad guys.

My daughter punched a girl in the face last year in her 7th grade year when a girl pushed Makayla up against the wall and Makayla yelled at her "watch it" and this girl proceeded to get in Makayla's face and "curse" her and My makayla is a very sweet girl, but you don't "curse" her or her friends and she lost her temper and punched her. I felt sooo bad....but even her principle, Dr. Justus, told us that it was witnessed by two other teachers and they had to turn their heads cause they were cracking up. I was like what is going on with these teachers....even though it might somehow be not all Makayla's fault, but I'm teaching my kids they can't go around hitting people...so again we made the principle put her in in-school suspension.

That's the only 2 incidents with my kids...they really are great!!! LOL......They are just pretty tough but we still try to make the consequences stick...you know?

Natalie Clark (Mitchell)

The nickname was Nat Cat.

I had mentioned Coach Walton earlier on in the talks before you and Erica joined. I could not remember his name. He called me and Jodi Minnie Mouse and would talk back to us in a minnie mouse voice everytime we would talk in class. He was crazy. I also remember the headbutting and he would slam the desks with books or scream into the ears of people that fell asleep in class. Scary.

06/13/08 06:11 PM #442

Starla Smith (Johnson)

Natalie...sounds like he was "LOOPY"...how weird is that....

06/13/08 06:11 PM #443
