No, I've forgotten ALOT, I was teased often. Easy target when you don't talk much! Who's that anyway?

Mr. Hopper was the best. In 9th and 10th grades, the class sizes were larger due to the math requirements. He would always select a student and ask a question. If the student did not know thw answer, everyone would whisper it.

Well one day he asked a question and the answer was numerical, we all kept whispering "true". Cary Sanders answered "true". Off Mr. Hopper went, "You are so dumb" as he banged his head against the board. We all died Laughing.

Cecile is dead now... but he was the man who always walked everywhere he went with his art supplies on his back... he was mean to the teenagers... he would shoot us birds everytime he saw us or throw stuff at us down at the mall. Girl, I know you remember him...LOL.

Oh, yeah, I remember him. I don't remember being labeled his woman....LUCKILY, I would probably be scarred! Maybe that's why he was always nice to me! LOL

Yeah right Patrick!!!

Some dummy fell asleep in his room when I had him. Their butt got woke up real quick with a quick whack of that stick he always carried around. I saw him break a couple of those things throughout high school. He used that thing like a whip!!!!A serious attention getter... no doubt.

Mr. Hopper was a good teacher though.. he was tough but he was good... remember those t-shirts he wore with all those theorems (sp.?) on them? The one I remember the most was the Pathagorian Theorem (sp?) shirt?

We need to ask Angie Smith-Hopper if he's a better father-in-law. Hey Ang, has he mellowed in his latter years?

The pythagorean theorom Asquared + Bsquared = C squared
Also, was it Heather or Becky roaming out in the desert like Moses?

Okay, I have been rolling reading through all the posts!

Personally, I am still waiting for big hair to return so mine will be back in style!

I am so glad so many of you have fond memories of the spend the night parties. I think my mother is still vacuuming m&m's! She also still laughs about "Hmm, those voices coming from the basement are kind of deep." Who would think girl's could get toilet paper up so high in the trees? Carson's mom was especially amazed, too bad she didn't know it WAS Carson! REmember him and Noel Malloof (sp?) riding their bikes over from the lake?

OH band stories! I loved being a band geek! The current director may be getting a community band together, anyone interested?

If we karaoke, I have to sing Aerosmith's "Walk this Way" or something by Motley Crue. Who's with me? Christy, I remember me and Wayne standing in line in the freezing cold to get tickets but we scored big time! Remember trying to walk up all those stairs at the Omni with staples in your abdomen?

Dave, I had forgetten about your face splat before Pink Floyd! I was about to cry I was laughing so hard when I read that. I learned a whole lot about some people's habits that night. Boy was I a naive fool! But I'll take it! I have lots of fun crazy memories of you. Remember singing Prince and Sheila E?

Erica, Kyrus and David, and then "First of all, I don't want to go to jail!" How did two such inocent girls like us get in so much trouble? I also remember some girls (not us)trying Redman on a softball trip! Yuck!

Johnathan, Senior Prom was a blast! Best one I went to! I remember having some fun times in band. Mona and Lacrecia, I missed the wild stuff Johnathan mentioned too. He must have roomed with the drum line! Again, I was so naive! Several of us occassionally joke about having a spend the night party in the basement and you'd certainly be welcome! Just bring your Ouigi (sp?)board for goofy seance (Anissa, stop pushing the thing!) and bible for some really intense bible talk! Can anyone explain how that board ended up in my Christian home?

Sorry so long, I just couldn't stop!

Yes, I remember that. I also remember another concert we went to and you locked your keys in your car at the Marta station and we huddled together in the freezing cold until Jimmy brought us the other set.

I have laughed until I have literally cried reading and remembering all the good times we all have had and I feel soooo blessed to have grown up with all of you.

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

i am so sorry i missed all the concerts! my mom wouldn't let me go to any! my oldest brother bought me a ticket to see 'heart' and she still wouldn't let me go! as far as the ouigi board? i'm not how that and bible got in the same paragraph! lol!

There are a few of us with bad reputations for being a partiers, and now the truth comes out. Let it be known, the "Band Geeks" (not my words) were the true party crowd! I hear you!

06/11/08 03:40 PM #136

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

yeah, the band geeks and their "mary jane" .....

06/11/08 03:44 PM #137

Delores Mullen (Scuffham)

ok, just the fact that you referenced marijuana as 'mary jane' shows your ages! lol!

06/11/08 03:45 PM #138

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

Johnathan referred to it as "mary jane"...

06/11/08 03:50 PM #139

Laura Simpson (Kell)

Okay Petey, the bad reputation some of you had was well earned! We band geeks had you all fooled! We were high on life! Just for the record, Mary Jane and I never met!

Where is Dana Dane?

06/11/08 03:51 PM #140

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

I never met Mary Jane either Laura... you can vouch for that one... we were always together.

By the way, I love and have missed you Kiki!

06/11/08 03:55 PM #142

Christy Bridges (Pirkle)

you too WaWa.....I meant to tell you... Lauren came across a picture of me and you in those derby hats, mini skirts, and high tops we used to wear "back in the day"... she was like "Oh mama, what were you thinking?"

Tryn to get her here. I need to thank for getting me through high school. Without her, I would still be in Mrs. Hall's English class!

That woman, Mrs. Hall, had the best hearing of anyone around. Chad Davis and I were sitting in the back of her class on day as she was writing on the board, and Chad made a quick comment about her rear end, and without missin a beat, she says "Thanks Chad and Patrick".

Laura - I worked hard for the reputation. I practiced everyday. I kept the "Puckett Bucket" in the back of the K-Pri loaded with ice and cool beverages.

First of all I am getting old and readily admit it. I just spent a week in Mississippi with some of the Youth from my church and believe me I am old. I would have a conversation about a movie or song with one of the other adults and we would realize that the kids with us weren't even alive. Ugg.

Second, I used the term Mary Jane, because I'm still an uptight nerd and I couldn't bring myself to use the word marijuana. HA!

Third, Laura hit the nail on the head. I was rooming in Tifton with two guys from the drum line and one of the "support" guys that humped our equipment around. All three of them were pot heads (one was just a sophomore!), unbeknownst to me until that night. I sat on my bed all night and wondered what was going to happen to me after I got expelled. Even sitting there minding my own business had me worried, because one of the Color Guard girls had a brace on her leg so she had to sit on my bed with me. I was waiting for a parent to come in and I was going to be charged with being in bed with a flag girl while high on dope. I was such a worry wart.
