Steven David Balzer , D.D.S., 48 of 2505 North Meadowlake Drive, died September 18, 1994 at his home.

He was born December 24, 1947 at Pittsburg, the son of Harold "Buck" and Darlene Steinert Balzer.

He was a 1966 graduate of Buhler High School, 1968 graduate pf Hutchinson Community College, 1970 graduate of Bethel College, North Newton amd graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City, Dental School in August 1973. A lifetime resident of the Hutchinson and Buhler areas, he praticed general dentistry at the Dental Center, Hutchinson.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hutchinson, the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, the Central District Dental Society, the Hutchinson Dental Society, the Hutchinson Dental Society. He served on the Sports Arena Convention Hall Advisory Committee. He was appointed to the Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees in September 1989, serviving as vice chairman during the 1992-1993 school year and chairman during the 1993-1994 school year, serving district three position at Hutchinson Community College until resiging June 30, 1994 due to ill health. He had also served as a board member at Central Kansas Area Vocational Technical School, the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, Evaluational Advistory and K.A.A.C.

On December 20, 1969 he married Pattie A. Wiems at Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Andrew Steven of Cincinnati, Ohio and Matthew Steven of the home, parents, Buhler and a sister, Marsha Sue Caster of Wichita.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson with the Rev.s James M. Wert and Harold Thiessen presiding.
Burial will be in the Buhler Municipal Cemetery.
