Al Deming

Alfred F. “Al” Deming III, 67, passed through Heaven’s gate Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Alfred F. II and Marie E. (Carroll) Deming.

Al graduated from Buhler High School in 1966 and Hutchinson Community College in 1970. He worked all of his life in photography, processing and printing photographs at Deming Studio. He retired from Deming Studio and continued to work alongside his adoring wife out of their home. Al also helped take care of his dad and was Director of Remembrance Media Production at Elliott Mortuary.

Al married Kathleen Ann Heintzman on Dec. 27, 1994, in Hutchinson. They shared 21 years of marriage. Al and Kathleen were like two peas in a pod; they were always together and their love for each other shined brightly. He is survived by: the love of his life, Kathleen of the home; father, Frank Deming of Hutchinson; sister, Cindy Waters and husband Randy of Olathe; brother, David Deming and wife Danita of Hutchinson; a daughter, Adriann Deming; stepdaughter, Tonya Mayfield; two step grandchildren, Zoe and Loghan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many caring friends. Al was preceded in death by his mother.

Cremation has taken place. A family gathering to receive friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
