Paul “P.D.” David Swank, 69, died on September 5, 2017 at his home in Nickerson. He was born on August 24, 1948 to Ray E. and Emla Louise (Parker) in Hutchinson, Kansas. 

“P.D.” graduated from Buhler High School. Soon after graduation he went to work for Eaton (Cessna) in Hutchinson for over 44 years. He enjoyed his country music, and watching sports. He followed Chiefs Football team and most all the KU and Kansas State basketball and football games. Most of all he loved his family, especially the grandchildren. P.D. was well known and loved in his Nickerson community. He was a long time “friend” of the community and his presence at the local diner and "coffee shops" will be missed. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Ray and Louise Swank and a brother, Eugene Swank.

Survivors include his daughters, Paula and husband Jeff Todd, Wichita, KS and Teresa and husband Dan Harms, Newton, KS; son, Mark and wife Mindy Swank, Hico, TX; brother, Vernon Swank, South Hutchinson; brother, Floyd Swank, Tulsa, OK;  two sisters, Beth Gordon, South Hutchinson and Ruth Muth, Longmont,CO; six grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 11th, 2017 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Hutchinson Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Hutchinson. Family will receive guests from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Hutchinson, KS.
