Merry Christmas to all our class pirates!

The star on the "Bon" was a great memory because it announced the beginning of the Christmas displays in the Frederick & Nelson's  and Bon Marche's giant street-level windows. It started as a tree with a star on top and morphed into an all white lights star display to better depict the reason for the season. Since then the magic of Christmas window displays, train layouts, and entertaining puppet shows has left the Emerald City like a ghost of Christmas Past. Good memories of hot chocolate and road trips to Downtown for shopping with Mom and Dad...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!laugh

And one more nod to nostalgia as Christmas 2025 fades in the rear-view mirror.
In this case, we follow an older couple on their annual winter drive to the family cottage. But as the Suburban rolls through the snow, the real road trip is down memory lane.

A very professional advertisement by the Chevrolet Division at GM.  Definitely a New England elite holiday theme with an exagguratd family "cottage" (that only the rich could afford.) The fantasy story in the ad is remenant of the nostalgic, old Christmas scenes depicted in theater movies of decades gone by. I miss those type of normal family-oriented TV video ads during the holiay season [instead of the current, medicine-peddling ads by big pharma after the COVID attack]. That sort of family interaction (and evolution) is part of the American Dream for loving, decent people. Thanks for the hyperlink, Bill.

Yes, Bill, Thanks for the bit of nostalgia.  Sure seems as though, the generations now, are really missing what the holidays are all about.  Being with family and friends is a true blessing!

If I'd added a disclaimer ("by the way this is a Chevrolet commercial"), would you still have been inclined to check it out?

In all events, New Year's just ahead....

Yes, Bill, I would.  I am always curious, so I would have to snoop.  HaHa!  Happy New Year, everyone!

A Chevrolet ad on youtube disappoints me because the TV mass media only seems to promote drugs and Asian cars now during the holidays. How would you find that ad on youtube if you weren't aware that it even existed there? The mass media also mostly promotes foreign cars with a "Santa" secular theme; they very seldom feature old fashioned American family culture any more. Nostalgic car ads apparently don't make money for the foreign car sellers or the TV broadcaster programmers who are "woke" to the global agenda I guess. I still see new Suburban SUV'S driven by young families in spite of the Green New Deal pressure that was promoted by the extremist climate cult. I believe electric vehicles are good and should be a family buyer option, not a dictated government requirement (the right machine for the family size and transport needs.) I think we are headed back to more practical vehicle choices for families with a pet and maybe even a camping travel/utility trailer, regardless of the family size. My blah, blah, blah --  since you asked. I REALLY ENJOYED THE AD, Bill. I still own a 1992 454 c.i. Chevy pickup that I bought new from Glen Grant Chwvrolet. It tows our small fleet of large trailers better than our 2008 Toyota Tacoma, but both vehicles seem to like running the $3.05/gal. gas price in our area. Thank you President Trump.

Very sad to hear about Gerald's passing. He always was friendly to me and he had a great heart-warming smile.

A Little Coin Trivia: If you have a roll of quarters that was minted before 1964, and each quarter has pre-1964 silver content at today's market price of over $90 per ounce, then every one of those quarters would be worth approximately $16 EACH in today's fiat dollar currency, as Federal Reserve Notes. The Central Bank's inflated USD Currancy System is "toast". The British Sterling Pound is now worth more than its equivalent in EU euros or USD's in international financial transactions. Think about it!

Is it ime for US Treasury Notes based on precious metals, instead of ENDLESS Fed loan debt notes and digital money-derived, credit/ATM debit cards?... Time to print REAL US asset-backed dollars again? Some international banks will "go under" during the transition to a USA sovereign nation currency based on the international silver and gold market values again. [THE BRICS COALITION CURRENCY EFFECT...]

Interesting, even if my numbers and/or the international banking trend analyses are a little off...

My credit union has hired a new CEO from the Central Banking community, and digital financial operations, partnerships, and procedures are changing rapidly. It's definitely not the same credit union that I became a member of in 1966.

Seattle TV listings -- June 29, 1956.

KIRO TV didn't go on the air till Feb. 8, 1958. CBS, notwithstanding its contract with KTNT (Tacoma), switched its affiliation to Channel 7 the same day.

Always glad to see LA "tinsel town" lose a game, even though I once worked at Huntington Beach and Seal Beach in the past. Hawks have some injuries going up against the Patriots, but they still look strong enough to be competitive. Four point spread in the NFC Championship final score must have paid out millions to the gamblers... I will not watch the satanic Super Bowl halftime show.

For those of us fortunate enough to live in a warm sunny climate, half-time will be barbecue outdoors, grab more food and libations, then third quarter will be ready to start.  Go Hawks!!

We like the Newsmax N2 channel if we watch TV news presentations, instead of the Internet podcast reports from independent investigative journalists. All the standard MSM "alphabet" networks are just parrots of the lame stream, Mockingbird propaganda spin invented by the CIA and associated foreign organizations. AI productions make the social drama [black pill] reporting products even worse. Look, squirrel!

Hundreds of high school students from Highline and Renton school districts walked out of their classrooms and into the rain at 9:45 a.m. Monday, demanding an end to the federal immigration crackdown.
At Highline High School in Burien, about 500 teenagers — over a third of the school’s student body — poured out of the brick building’s front doors for the “ICE Out” protest. Students at Evergreen, Mount Rainier, Raisbeck Aviation, Lindbergh and Big Picture high schools also participated in the walkout, which called for abolishing the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

Brainwashed young minds led by a few influential online activists, teachers, and administrators. This is civil war chaos funded by domestic and foreign NGO's. Don't take the bait or buy into the evolving division and lies. Pray for awakening of the misinformed insurrection patsies of the elite globalist agitators. Debate, stand united for America, and stand your ground for freedom from Communism and violent Anarchists. The globalists are desperate for attaining their 2030 Agenda Master Plan created by United Nations forums and the pharohs of today. Nothing can change what is going to happen. America is going to survive by devine intervention; just believe and stand strong. The enemy is not just one other nation, it is a group of global elites who want to defeat us from within. True American patriots will not comply. We are survivors!

Law and order must prevail. Stay away from known trouble areas; be prepared for energy, fuel station, and Internet shutdowns. Keep a portable radio with battery spares for travel information and emergency alerts.

Have a family plan to stay safe and protected during trying times -- much like you would plan for earthquakes, wild fires, or solar storm events. Have 72 hours of food and water supplies ready for emergency survival for each person in your household. Store extra medicine and medical supplies for you and the vulnerable people in your household. Keep cars fueled in case you need to "bug out" during social riots or gang attacks. Keep your cell phone charged. Don't panic when things get rough. You have ways to get away if bad stuff starts happening in your area. Plan escape routes to friendly safe areas in a fueled vehicle. Keep blankets, rain gear, and work gloves  and an empty fuel container in all vehicles. Stay away from government buildings of any type.

Have photo ID (passport, etc.) and some spending money ready for "bugging out" in a travel bag. Bank ATM'S may not be in a safe area or even working. Keep concealed carry equipment ready for travel and use common sense before using it for self or family defense. Always cooperate with law enforcement while carrying away from home. Be safe and well trained. Most veterans know about defense tactics. [Be "frosty".]
