I remember spending a lot of time at the Burley Theatre.

I remember a flashlight bouncing off of a few heads.

Just checking to see if anyone is using the message forum...

This can be engaging if you just leave a message...really anything appropriate...

Like...does anyone remember when a Buster Bar was only $.35 at the Dairy Queen??

Clyde, I think it's you and me using the message forum!  But that's TWO!  I was wondering what you thought of maybe holding the reunion in Boise.  Just a thought:  more hotels, more night life (which might attract more people); many people live in the Boise area.  It also might be easier to get to via airports, etc.

How did the meeting go?  Did a lot of people show up?

I gave some thought to that, but it just seems that the draw is for people to see their old stomping grounds.  Now, I have thought about arranging a daily bus from SLC or Boise to Burley...obviously thinking big, but not sure we could get enough interest to afford it.

Burley is hard to get to, and yet, we've seen a number of people try and have reunions out of the area, and attendance has been impacted by "area appeal."  I think we'll persevere...I suspicion that folks will figure out how to get there...I know it is a big trip for you, but if we use the technology that is driving this hopefully people will make "connections."

I truly appreciate the suggestion...!!!  The momentum is picking up...I would like to think that we fill Burley up to the point that people have to stay in Twin Falls and drive over...but we'll see.  Thus far good response from the "locals"...

Only 5 of us at the meeting, but interest continues to grow.  I'm fearful if we had it outside of Burley that a number of the locals would not come.  Additionally, we are placing a HUGE focus on getting previous teachers and administration to attend...this would drop off significantly if we moved it out of area.  I suspicion we will have 10-20 of them there at minimum.  I'm looking at having Lovell Turner do a keynote...haven't asked him yet...he is 90.

Jean Hickman is working this for us...

Keep the ideas coming...and thank you again for your help.

Clyde, I must have royally screwed up somewhere if I didn't teach you that suspicion is a noun and suspect can be either a noun or a verb - the latter in your case!  (Sorry, I just can't get over all those years of "bleeding" students' papers!)

Seriously, I think you have a great project going and I heard rumors that the students from the 80's might try to copy it.  I would have come to your meeting at Edith's except that the houseguests I'd had for a week just left that afternoon and I collapsed.  Let me know about future meetings if any are on the docket; I'd be happy to do what I could to help.  In addenda - I firmly believe you are correct in basing your reunion in Burley.  Having it elsewhere just wouldn't make sense to me.  Good luck.

Mrs. Snow...

I am in trouble if my English is going to be "graded" in my posts or e-mails.  Regardless, (at least I didn't use "irregardless") thanks for the gentle prodding and making sure we speak well...or is that "good?"... ;-)

Through the holidays plans for the reunion will be simmering.  After the first of the year, it will be "all hands on deck."

I'll keep you posted.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you.

Clyde B.

Wow!  I remember the 'irregradless' isn't a word, too!  See, Mrs. Snow, you did get through to at least 2 of us!

Great to hear that it's still in Burley; it was just a suggestion (actually, my husband suggested it because he's seen Burley and Boise both, and coming from New Jersey, he just doesn't understand the draw to the old stomping grounds).  I'm hoping there will be a big turn-out.

Just messaged with Greg Morton on Facebook; he's planning to come.  That's 2 from our class but I'm hoping for more.  We have to remember that not everybody is on FB so I'm hoping that information is going out via other avenues.

Keep up the good fight!

Oops!  Should say 'THAT 'irregradless' . . . .

Thought you might get a kick about my brother Ed & me telling a "high school" story about Cindy Tolle.  Please forgive us Cindy.

Hey Clyde,

I got your message and all is well with me and my family.  I hope that all is going well with you and your family.  Where are you living these days?  I appreciate the effort you and others are putting into making these arrangements for a reunion spanning graduating classes over 10 years.  I've posted it on FB and recommend that you do the same as well as solicit this idea to others as it appears to be the best public forum out there.  I hope to be able to make it to at least for one of the days of the reunion.  I've asked my brother and sister who graduated in 72 and 74 to come with me.

Charlie Cargill

I have some fond memories of those fantastic trumpet solos that you displayed.

Hi Clyde!  There is a shuttle service that runs from Salt Lake and Boise to all over.  It is called Salt Lake Express.  I have used it to visit my daughter in Jerome.  I fly into Boise and take the shuttle to the Wal Mart in Jerome.  The cost was around $26.00.  Check out their web site at saltlakeexpress.com.  This may work for those who have a ride once they get to Burley.  Just a thought! Wow Clyde,  I  really appreciate all the work you must have done to get this whole thing pulled together.  You are the man!!!  I am very excited every time I get a message someone has joined the profiles. I live in Twin and would be willing to help as the time gets closer so just let me know what i can do.

Do You know if Ann Schrozman is coming?

Hi...thanks for the feedback.

It actually is out on Facebook, but "do your thing" to get the word out to your friends.

It is in a group called "I graduated from Burley High in the 70s" -- yea I know it is long.

There is a complete list of what is scheduled on the "registration" page, but great point that it is "hard to find."  I may put a "button" on the front page...let me noodle on that one.  (I have a link out there now after reading your post).

Relative to Facebook... click here...

http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=137265232967520

You can tell it has posts from July of last year, but it has been tough getting everyone's e-mail.  This was going to be a "viral" effort with no mailing, but as referenced below, I'm doing a mailer to those that have shared their addresses with previous reunion committees.

Full dinners on both Friday and Saturday night...live music, I think one of the local "vendors" is providing some level of "beverage" and overall should be a hoot.  Saturday will have a "no host bar" and dancing with DJ...Friday's music will be a bit more subdued for people to be able to visit and the teachers to be introduced etc...outside at the Elk's Patio at the river.  Saturday night is at the Burley Inn...

I have a mailing (postcard) this is going out to those without email over the next week.  I'll be posting a copy on the home page as well.  If you have other ideas, help us out.

I appreciate your comments...THANK YOU!

Clyde

Labor of love, but there are others involved that have done way more than me!

Just want to believe that there is good in the world! I know Christa will be smiling with us! She was a great person!!!

Smile to others when you think about the reunion. Our world needs this!

One other thing...see the link in the left hand yellow menu that says "Live Chat?". You can get a group together and visit using this.

sort of fun and a little like all the other chat systems but here everyone is a part of the party so to speak...

Gracias Amigo,
