Hi everyone! Just wondering why there isn't more activity on here? Especially since it is getting closer to the reunion. I hope, at this time of our lives, everyone isn't just satisfied with being old.

Geez... I'm having an awesome time in my life! Awesome girl friend, great grand kids, sweet daughter and busier than ever. I'm not expecting to show up to the reunion to a bunch of lame dead beats...it won't be pretty! Trust me...I'm alive and well and I hope the rest of you are enjoying life too! This reunion will not be boring!

I'm looking for somebody to test this, but I think you can go through the "Registration" system and buy the CD/DVD option (by itself I hope) for $10.00

It will be 3 months or so for delivery...sorry, volunteer help is so tough (oh, sorry Richard Saldana...just kidding)...

We owe a huge THANK YOU to Richard for literally hundreds of hours researching and scanning photos...

Anyway, let me know if you have any luck.

Penney Martindale (1977)

Hey Clyde,

Didn't hear about the reunion until the 3rd of July.  Didn't see myself on the "lost classmate" list nor my brothers.( Trent and Brent Martindale)  We probably would have shown up.  I got excited when my mom showed me the information in the paper but unfortunately it was too late.....  Maybe another year.  Great Idea though.........Thanks for the hard work on our behalf.

Clyde and his committee did a FANTASTIC! job putting the 70's reunion together.

Keep the word going and let's do it again. For any that did not attend, you should really get serious about attending another one. It was a great mix of people and good to reconnect with old and new friends.

It was a lot of work for the committee, but worth it for all the attendees.

Great weather, great food!!! just a wonderful time.

It's my personal feeling that individual reunions should be replaced with the entire 70's reunion. It's so much fun and it would be more economical.

Thank you Clyde and everyone on the committee.

Hope to see you in 2012 or 2013 !!!!!!!!!!

Penney...so sorry that we didn't get you in the loop earlier.  We have a lot of improvement in being able to "get ahold" and "track" everyone, but we did what we could do...anyway, hope you're signed in for future updates with an email address that will stay updated.

I don't know how often you visit with Ric, but I stopped in and gave him a personal invitation, but I'm sure this is a busy time for him.  I told him to contact you guys... :-(

Anyway, spread the word that the website is here....we'll try to keep it up...and we'll see when our "energy level" regains itself to potentially do this again.  It was fun and crazy!

Best Always...

Clyde

Karen...

Wow...what would we have done without you, Rusty, Andrea and Tom.  I am sorry I didn't get to golf, but will put this on the list for next time...just too many "behind the scenes" activities that needed attention.  I had a great time.

I am still recuperating and the thought of doing this again gives me mixed emotions, but now that folks have seen what "it can be" maybe we can stir more of the troops and have some fun with this again.  I loved it...and moreover, love seeing the people that have made us who we are.

Thank you for your support and incredible organizational efforts all the way around.

I'm intrigued by the one poll response on the home page that says to never do this again...maybe somebody that didn't come?  I respect all opinions...

Thanks again...

Clyde

I was trying to find a You Tube recording of our fight song being played (wouldn't that be nice to see?) but instead found some entertaining videos by different classes about life at BHS. I would encourage you to check them out, even if they are in the new school instead of the one we went to. They will make you smile.

Heads up Danny from class of 1975 died

Dan Lovell 'Wally' Vorwaller

Jul. 29, 1957 - Nov. 29, 2016

Date of Service: Dec. 6, 2016

Dan Lovell ‘Wally’ Vorwaller

BURLEY – Dan Lovell ‘Wally’ Vorwaller 59, of Burley, unexpectedly returned to his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, from heart-related complications.

Dan was born July 29, 1957, in Boise, Idaho, and raised by his parents, Richard Norman and Laura Lee Holyoak Vorwaller. His childhood took place in Burley and he was a graduate of Burley High School.

He married his loving wife and companion of 25 years, Melinda Higley, on June 21, 1991; which union was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 9, 1999. Together they were active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which gave Dan the opportunity to serve in many capacities, including Primary teacher, Sunday school teacher, and member of the Elders quorum presidency.

As a hard-working, ambitious person, Dan was employed as a grain facility manager, welder, and most recently, an owner-operator truck driver. He was dedicated to providing for his family. He also had a love for sports and the outdoors. He coached city league basketball, enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, and travel. Some of his favorite travel destinations were Disneyland and Disney World. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren – for each one of whom he had a special place in his heart. His kind and happy demeanor and his distinct laugh will be missed by many loving friends and family members.

Dan is survived by his dear wife, Melinda; children, Jeremy (Brandy) Vorwaller of Rupert, Jaimi (Cameron) Catmull of Rupert, Jeremy Bywater of Burley, Holly (Jackson) Quanstrom of Youngtown, Arizona; his mother, Lauralee Vorwaller of Burley; parents-in-law, Lee and Maria Higley of Heyburn; sister, Kristine (Boyd) Hanks of Burley; brother, Trent (Joaunee) Vorwaller of Burley; grandchildren, Jessica, Austen, Maddison, Allyson, Danten, Kaleigh, Camdyn, and Jayci; and one great-grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Vorwaller; and nephews, Judd Vorwaller and Cody Hanks.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, at the Star LDS Church located at 100 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Bruce Bean officiating. Burial will follow at the Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, December 5, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. preceding the service at the church.

BRENT BUNN OBITUARY

Brent Earl Bunn

1955 –2022

CULPEPER, VA - Brent Bunn, 66, most recently of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 6, 2022. Brent was born August 11, 1955, in Burley, Idaho, to Albert and Marjorie (Chapman) Bunn.

Brent was blessed with two daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Brown of Woodbridge, VA, and Marie Bunn of Idaho Falls, ID. He was additionally blessed with two grandchildren, Naniiya and Elijah Brown.

Brent spent his youth doing farm work with his father, brothers and sister. High school and church sports consumed a big part of Brent's early life; football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. Brent was a 1973 Burley High School graduate.

Brent enlisted in the US Army in 1975. He specialized in computer programming and analytics and served in Texas (where he also attended Central Texas College and received his Associates degree), Washington, South Korea, Indiana, Hawaii, and retired honorably as Sergeant First Class at his last duty station of Ft. Knox, Kentucky in 1995 after 20 years of service.

Brent enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school and extracurricular activities as they grew up and watching or attending Naniiya's college soccer games. Brent was an avid animal lover and his dogs were his lifelong companions and best friends. He fell in love with the Jack Russell Terrier breed (Abby, Bella, and Dixie) and enjoyed their expressive personalities, loyalty, and love throughout his life.

Brent also liked traveling and had been to almost all 50 states, Guam, Japan, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, UK, and a few European countries. He was an avid mystery book reader and part of a reading group at the Culpeper Library. He was a member of the Manassas Moose Lodge and was able to reconnect with friends he served in the Army with and also made new good friends. He enjoyed playing darts, billiards, cards, social events at the lodge, and also joined the Manassas Moose Riders.

Brent was preceded in death by his father and mother, Albert and Marjorie Bunn. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Brown and Marie; grandchildren, Naniiya and Elijah; and siblings, Dennis (Karlene), Greg (Denise), Jeff (Kay), and Elaine (Brent Praegitzer).

Brent will be escorted to Quantico National Cemetery by the Manassas Moose Riders where he will receive military honors as he is laid to rest on August 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Veterans Moving Forward (vetsfwd.org) in Brent's name as he would have preferred to help other veterans obtain a four legged companion.
