Gary Anderson - Class Of 1975

Gary Anderson

Date of Death: July 4, 2009

Place of Death: Burley, Idaho

Gary developed brain tumors in 1991 and had surgery to remove them, leaving him deaf and mostly blind, but he continued painting and carving. He was a tremendous award-winning artist. His health steadily declined until his body finally wore out.

Buried in View Cemetery near Burley, Idaho.

Here is how to reach View cemetery from Burley. Travel south on Overland Avenue towards Oakley, Idaho. Just south of Burley, Overland Avenue becomes Highway 27. Four miles south of the city limits, make a left-hand turn onto 500 South and drive six and one half miles. At 650 East, turn right and travel south one mile until you reach a 4-way stop that intersects a gravel road. The gravel road is 600 South, turn left on 600 South and you'll be able to see the cemetery. It will be on the right-hand side of the road a few hundred yards from the intersection.

View was a small town located about 2 1/2 miles east of the cemetery. The town of View no longer exists but the cemetery is still in use and well maintained.

Just one of Gary Anderson's amazing paintings.

Titled “Friends” for the 1992 Idaho Muzzleloader stamp competition which he won.
