Susan Pearson (Tyner) - Class Of 1977

GARDEN CITY • Susan Tyner, age 54, passed away at her home in Garden City, Idaho, on Thursday, July 4, 2013. She suffered from coronary heart disease and cancer.

Susan was born April 11, 1959, in Shenandoah, Iowa, to parents Donald and Mary Lois Pearson. She was the youngest of five daughters. The family moved to Burley, Idaho, in January 1961 where Susie attended elementary schools and graduated from Burley High School in 1978. She attended ISU, CSI and Boise State University, where she earned her degree. Susie met Jim Tyner, the love of her life, while attending Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. They were married five years later on Feb. 26, 1983, in Burley, Idaho. They lived in Idaho Falls, Payette and Boise. She was employed as a nurse at care centers and in medical records positions including a supervisory position in Ontario, Oregon. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning, cooking and she tolerated camping.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; stepdaughter, Lisa Waltman (Jared) of Middleton, Idaho; sisters, Donna Hughes (Kenneth), Dianne Ander (David) and Janet Howarth (Roger), all of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Janis McMillon (Steve) of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; two nieces; and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mary Pearson; and her parents-in-law, Earl and Velma Tyner.

They are members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Boise.

A service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, with a viewing at 10 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on the corner of Orchard and Cassia in Boise. Burial was at the Dry Creek Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bowman Funeral Home.
