
GOODING • Susan Drue Thurston Jessop, age 54, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 8, 2014, in her home in Gooding, Idaho.
She was born July 16, 1959, in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Leo S. and Wilma Gillett Thurston. She was the seventh child of seven children (four sisters and two brothers). She grew up and attended schools in Burley and college in Utah and California. She married Wendell H. Jessop on Dec. 22, 1988, in Burley. In the mid-’90s, they moved to Gooding and established roots. She loved the area and said she was there to stay. She was an active member of the LDS Church and loved serving in the Primary before her health declined. She and Wendell are the parents of one child, Misti Jessop Rex (Tyler) of Kuna, Idaho. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved family, the outdoors, her dogsand especially the family cabin where they spent many happy days.
She is survived by her husband; daughter; two brothers, Frank (Mayumi) Thurston of Collinsville, Okla., and Tim (Kathryn) Thurston of Bloomington, Ind.; four sisters, Billie (Dee) Gifford of Odgen, Utah, Karen (Larry) Richman of Meridian, Laurie Mounce of Paul and Rose (Kris) Hansen of Burley; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Star LDS Church, 100 S. 200 W. of Burley, with Bishop Jeff Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Declo Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St. in Burley, and 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
