
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. • Janet Williams passed away ather home in Newport Beach, California,on the morning of Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at the age of 54 after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer.
Janet is survived by Jared, her loving husband of 33 years. They were married in Burley, Idaho, on Aug. 17, 1979. Her sons, Christopher and Tyson; their respective spouses, Jessica and Desi; and her grandchildren, Hannah, Max, Lexi and Gauge, lovingly remember Janet. She is also survived by her father, Kent Woodland of Albion, Idaho; and her mother, Nanette Woodland of Burley, Idaho; as well as siblings, Ann Miller of Shelley, Idaho, Kay Johns of Anaconda, Montana, Kirk Woodland of Burley, Idaho, Doug Woodland of Burley, Idaho, and Jill Toller of St. George, Utah.
Janet was born in Burley, Idaho,on Feb. 27, 1959.She graduated from Burley High School in1977and earned an associate degree in science from Dixie College in 1979. She worked many jobs over the years (sometimes two or three at a time) and finally retired from a successful transportation and warehousing business she had built with her husband and children. She was able to teach them firsthand hard work and honest values.
Janet was an especially creative person who expressed her talents through decorating and cooking. She was very fond of her two daughters-in-law and loved spending time with them, where she passed on her talents and skills to them. One of her favorite places to go was her mountain cabin near Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she enjoyed the great outdoors with her family. However, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She was the tremendous example of patience and love that every grandmother should be.
A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2013 at Fairhaven Memorial, 1702 Fairhaven Ave., Santa Anna, CA 92705. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the LDS Chapel, 801 Dover Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92663. Interment service followed at Fairhaven Memorial.
