Burley, Idaho - Ronal McIntosh Christensen, a 58-year-old resident of Burley, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in rural Cache County, Utah, as a result of a trucking accident.
Ronal was born on June 22, 1955, in Burley, Idaho, to Ronal Eugene and Nola McIntosh Christensen. He was the oldest child. He attended schools in Springdale and Burley, graduating from Burley High School in 1973. He married Janet Hartman in 1976, and to this union Jessica and April were born. They later divorced. He then married Gertie Vierstra and then came Ryan and Joel, and a stepson, Tyler. They divorced, and he then married Kathy West and they were later divorced.
Ronal loved his family, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, family cookouts, “tinkering” around the yard, farming, and gardening. Ronal loved to cook and to try new recipes. He had a keen ear for music and his favorite TV show was the Voice. He loved the outdoors and just being with family. He recently moved back to Burley from North Dakota, and was thrilled to be around family again.
Ronal was preceded in death by his father, Ronal Eugene; one brother, Leon D.; and a daughter, Jessica.
He is survived by his mother, Nola of Burley; his children, April Hartman of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ryan (Kim) and Joel of Buhl; his stepson, Tyler (Shawna) Tvrdy of Wendell; his siblings, Steven D. (Debra), and Rodney J. (Charlene) of Burley; one sister, Julie (Murray) Baird of Staten Island, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Linda Christensen of Burley; his girlfriend, Debi Jones of Burley; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, at the Springdale LDS Church, 519 E. 200 S., of Burley, Bishop Gregg M. Harman officiated. Burial was in the Basin Cemetery in Oakley.
A viewing was held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley and prior to the service on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Editor's note: Ronal's death was caused by a truck crash. Police reported that he was driving a Volvo semi-tractor and pulling an empty milk trailer on State Road 23, west of Logan, Utah around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Witnesses reported seeing the trailer whip around, which pulled the semi's cab off the right shoulder of the road, where the vehicle overturned.
