Cynthia Rose Turner

I have been practicing architecture in Asheville for the last ten years. I met Ed Ayers, a wine distributer and avid hiker, in 2006. We got married on Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway last fall with all five of our children in attendance.

My architectural practice, at the downtown firm Architectural Design Studio, is mostly public institutional work with an emphasis on sustainable design. I am currently getting my first LEED project certified with the US Green Building Council.

I loved taking driver's ed from Coach Hodge. He used to throw blackboard erasers at students who he caught talking in class. He would also hit you (not hard enough to hurt) if you left foot braked.

Alex Mebane reminded me how much I loved concert choir with Mr. Covert. He could be very demanding, but he sure could get a beautiful sound out of us.
