I'm glad to see our reunion count has picked up! I hope all that have posted can find a way to make it (especially Saturday night) and if you are in contact w/those that haven't - please let spread the word (yes I said that earlier). I am looking forward to this weekend in Burlington more than I have in .. oh I don't know.. 20 years?? See you all soon..

Michele Wise (Pitts)

I agree Jenni. We need to make an extra special effort to come and catch up. The older we get the less we are bound to remember..ha ha ha. Really, I know that we haven't seen people in years but the good feelings and memories that come up when I read or see pictures of you guys is great. Even people that I didn't really know that well in school. We share a common bond and in the world today that's something to hold on to. I'm really looking forward to seeing all the faces at the reunion. Take care out there...

Deede Long (Nichols)

I agree Michelle! DOes everyone feel as emotional as I do? We ALL remember names and faces. We ALL had our own friends at that time. But getting older makes you wish you'd have made more friends and stronger bonds with others. We are like a family. I've looked back in my annuals. Seen where I was so close with so many yet lost instant contact with after graduation. That's sad but life, I know. I'll be glad to see everyone again! I've been getting the word out to those that I could find but have hit the end of my road. I hope others are trying the same!

Wow! I am so excited to see those numbers growing! What a great group of people. It's been lots of fun catching up with everyone and reading about what you have all been up to. Thank goodness for modern technology!

I'm excited to see the numbers growing too! It's true - we all had our own networks in High School however I am looking really forward to creating new ones. Michele said it best in that we all share a special bond and that is one that I am hoping to strengthen. I have spread the word the best that I could but if I run into the opportunity to reach out to more.. then I'll definitely do it.

See you all soon!

I have to admit that I hesitated coming to the reunion when I got the invitation but when I saw all of the people that were coming I decided I would. I haven't been to any of the reunions so I have to say it's been a long time since I have seen most of you. I hate to hear that you are not coming Frankie - I would love to see you again. Everyone looks great! I look forward to seeing you.

I see more names going up on the memory board. That saddens me. My heart goes out to all of those families and their closest friends. I remeber them all like it was yesterday. They will forever be in our hearts.

If I come to this, it'll be my first class reunion. While initially reticent, I find I'm considering it. Over the years, I've taken to doing things I wouldn't normally do. In doing such, my life has grown immensely.

I'll probably do this, too, for a big part of me doesn't want to. High school was a mixed bag for me. (to put it lightly, though I imagine I'm not the only one...) Reliving good times and moving through memories of not-so-good times is probably a good thing to do.

@ all: Why are you coming?

09/18/08 10:07 PM #22

Deede Long (Nichols)

Wow SHannon!! That was powerful. I remember those times as well. School days can be hard. I have a 13 year old now and I'm trying to help her make it through these times. Not sure if I learned much from my days except that I kept my self real. I can look back and honestly say that I was ME and that I never tried to be any more than who I am. It is funny though. I was always insecure about my looks. Thought I was an ugly duckling. But when I look at those photos now, I see that I was just as beautiful then as I am now. Inside and out. I don't mean that in a snooty sort of way. I just mean that when you grow up, you realize the importance of friends. I think we have all learned that lesson in our lifetime. At least I hope WE ALL HAVE!!!! And as I said in an earlier message, we are all bound together by that time in our life. Good or bad. It makes me so sad to hear of thise not with us anymore.I hope that the rest of us can appreciate the fact that the rest of us are all still here for one another. Despite the fact of how we may have been then, we have the rest of our lives to become who we should be. WE ARE FAMILY!! Go Bulldogs!! I love ya!!

Deede, what a great response! Thanks for having been and continuing to be real. I look forward to seeing you again.

With love,
