Of the last 20 years, I spent over 10 years of it in school at both UNCG and UMass-Amherst, earning my doctorate in educational measurement (that's right: tests!). The other 10 years I've spent living up and down the east coast. I have lived in Washington, DC, where I was able to reconnect with Susan Hatch, and we've stayed in very close contact since. While I was there, I worked at the Medical College Admission Test and was able to watch Paul Harris practice interviewing patients through a two-way mirror, which was a lot of fun. I've also lived and worked in Princeton, NJ and, most recently, in New York. I met my husband while living in DC; we've been together 10 years and, as an artist and musician, he is my connection to all things non-academic. We just moved to Chapel Hill from Brooklyn last year so I can help in the care of my seriously ill mother. I still work for the College Board in New York, so I telecommute and travel quite frequently. My primary responsibility is ensuring the quality of the Advanced Placement exams, and I am thoroughly committed to my work and commitment to improve education for all students. When not working, my husband and I like to get back to the city as often as possible for various art-related happenings, and get back to nature through gardening and hiking.
