After BEHS, I attended SVC then transferred to WSU where I earned my degree in Communication. GO COUGS! I moved to Edmonds for a job at a design firm. Dan Alar and Dave Ashcraft were my neighbors. Hilarious! When the design firm folded (the owner's secret online porn business wasn't as lucrative as he thought it would be - no I'm not kidding) I moved to Seattle to work for Nordstrom where I managed Events and Santa's Castle. For a glimpse into my holiday hell read David Sedaris, Santa Land Diaries. Pretty much sums it up. The idea of free weekends and a bigger paycheck lured me to Technology so I contracted at Microsoft which helped me get a job with Metia, a technology marketing firm.
In 2006 Metia moved me to Singapore to set up Microsoft's Customer Evidence Program. Living in Southeast Asia was an incredible experience. I shared a flat with a Portuguese American conductor from the Singapore Symphony, partied with local Singaporeans (Malay, Chinese and Indian) and had lots of fun w/ Australians and Kiwis. I enjoyed being a minority, even when they stared at me for my light eyes and curly hair. Bali is paradise and Bangkok is an enigma.
I came home after about a year and decided I'd had enough of agency life. I landed a great job with F5 Networks, where I manage their Customer Testimonial Program. Basically I get our customers to say nice things about us to the press, analysts and other potential customers. The view from my desk overlooks Myrtle Edwards park, Mount Rainier and I get to watch the ferries come and go... love Seattle in the summer.
Outside of work, which keeps me pretty busy, I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling and living in Seattle. I just bought a condo in Magnolia so have been busy decorating and familiarizing myself with the local hangouts. Not married and no kids yet... Probably should get on that. Are we really in our late 30's??? It can't be true.
I'm looking forward to the reunion to catch up with everyone.
