SITE HISTORY
 
Phase 1   The Rich Jones  Era  2014?  to  2016
  • Rich Jones built the original the site.
  • Start date, web address and host platform are unknown. ~ 2014???
  • The 50th Reunion was organized on this Class Creator site and the Butte High sister site. ~ 2014
  • Rich maintained the site and logged new items until he passed away. ~ 2016

Phase 2   The Don Plessas Years  2016  > 2022 

  • Don Plessas ( A 1964 Butte High Alumni) graciously took over when Rich Jones passed.  ~ 2016
  • Don managed this site and the Butte High site on Class Creator ~ 2016 to 2022.
  • The 55th Reunion was organized on this site and the Butte High sister site  ~ 2019

Phase 3   Decline of the site

  • By March of 2022 very few folks we're using the site,
  • Don felt it was time to move on and decided to step away from the three Butte High/Central 64 Sites (1 on Facebook: 2 on ClassCreator) ~ March/April 2022 
  • Don turned this site over to me to evaluate then either maintain or close.

Evaluating the Situation...

  • Mid March, 2022
    • A review of the site's data showed it was not generating traffic or membership. 
    • According to the data when I inherited the site in Mid March of 2022:
      • 198 people were in the class (ref 64 yearbook).
      • ~46 Classmates were listed as deceased...(a sketchy number since a few more were found)
      • Only 27 of 149  of living classmates had ever joined the site ( around 20%)
      • Only 4 have joined in the last 8 years!
      • Only 15 of the 27 have been active in the last 12 months...
      • Only 10 folks have added or updated their profile in the last 6 years...

 PHASE 4:  ATTEMPTED REVIVAL:

PHASE 5: EVALUATING THE "REVIVAL'

There has been a slight increase in site usage in the last year
  • We enrolled 4 new members (Frank Thomas, Dan Staples, Dave McKeirnan, Karen Glennon) 
  • There was on  picture or profile updates (Neil (Ralph Malakowski)
  • Only 23 members logged into the site.
  • Only 13 messages were sent between members
  • Basically the traffic doesn't justify the effort to keep updating it.
FUTURE OF THE SITE: It WiLL Go Dormant if Traffic Doesnt Improve... 
  • I will monitor the site and make small updates and add memorials (if I come across them) and hope for more participation
  • The domain name will lapse in April of 2023.
  • The host, Class Creator, may leave the site up for a while
  • If YOU want to take over the site contact the administrator here and we will make you the new administrator
