John Wells

I have been married for 37 years to Teresa Rushing Wells who graduated from Wingfield High School in Jackson, MS. I have been a Worship/Music Pastor for over 20 years and I am currently the Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove (Birmingham) AL.

I guess my funniest story involves Jeff Sills. We were in Coach Rowans glass and Jeff kept hitting me in the leg. I finally got tired of telling him to quite and so I hit him back just in time for Coach Rowan to see my retaliation. Coach Rowan invited us back to his office and gave us the choice of giving each other licks or him handing out the punishment. We chose to give each other licks and after we traded taps, Coach Rowan stepped in and applied the finishing touches. I got the opportunity to talk with Jeff before he passed away. It was comforting to know where he was going to end up for eternity. It serves as an opportunity for all of us to take a look and examine where our eternity will be. Life is but a vapor. Do you know?
