Following high school, I spent several years working in London before returning to Nebraska to attend UNK. My undergrad degrees were in communications and pre-law. I met my future ex-husband there, who was teaching political science there at the time.
We moved to the Washington, DC area for a few years before heading to the tundra known as Vermont. Following my divorce, I decided to attend law school, and since Vermont happens to have the number one environmental law school in the nation, I decided to stay there for three more years. Of course, I didn't specialize in environmental law in the end! I ended up going to London to spend a summer semester at Queen Mary's College for international/EU tax law, and work more with wills and some family law.
I'm now back in the DC area, but this time I have Nanny, my mother with me! Along with 2 blind "foster" beagles I have for a couple years (while a friend is stationed in Japan), in addition to my own 2 pets, my household is quite full.
Sadly, I was never blessed with my own children, but have been given given a wonderful opportunity to work with several of the youths in my church, as a sponsor for their "Journey to Adulthood" program.
They are a real blessing to me!
Additionally, I have been appointed by our Bishop as a diocesan coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia (the largest diocese in the US!). This has been an honor for me, and certainly keeps me busy between that and my day job!
