Yes
Not really. New Mexico/Native America is a totally different world from semi suburban (white/taibo/bilagaana/wasicu) Caldwell, ID (I love that I can say white in several Native American Languages, and I've been cussed out in several Native American Languages, too, LOL)!
Went to the Institute of American Indian Arts, and then to Dine' College on the Navajo Rez where I studied the Navajo Language and became part of a beautiful Navajo family...who I recently reconnected with after the passing of my daughter's father (we had a falling out, and consequently, I was cut off from the rest of the family who I loved very much).
Speak Navajo fluently. I was on the right track in 2000, but when I was relocated to Idaho, well, there aren't too many Navajos hangin' out in Caldwell...
Coach Cheerleading: an all-Native all-star squad called "Native Spirit", and a the middle and high school squads for Native American Community Academy. And not only that, I'm starting to really get involved with Native America. The bilagaanas have it way easy...
Going to IAIA and living on the Navajo Rez, being reunited with my Navajo family this year after finding out about the passing of my daughter's father. Making in-roads with my students at Native American Community Academy.
No thanks!!! I all ready got the kid, don't need a 6 foot tall kid with an apendage and legal adult hood!
Yes. Athena Tohtsonii Mackey.
Dinetah (Navajo Land). I really enjoyed the time Athena's Uncle Nelson and I took all the kids night fishing at Many Farms Lake.
Paris
I have a pretty good vocabulary in both Navajo and Comanche. I was also best friends with the former Comanche tribal chairman's daughter. I also know a descendant of Quanah Parker. I went horseback riding at his house a few months ago, and he blessed my home.
I am also big on supporting NDN (Indian) Pride, if you couldn't all ready tell.
Cheerleading because I worked really hard to get there and I did not give up.
