Went to University of Calgary to become a lawyer. Ended up getting tired of professors after my undergrad. Law dream died. Spend 10 summers treeplanting to pay for a house and an education that was ...that had only led to a job in treeplanting.
Moved to Japan. Stayed for two years to teach English and to look tall. Became a radio host and wrote a crappy song called Sumo Santa. More on this later.
Returned to Canada. Sold the house I bought for $43,000, for $64,000. Yes, I thought I was a millionaire. Used the money to move to Vancouver to do a post-grad at Capilano College. Met some of the best friends of my life and initiated my life into Latin America.
Finished my post grad in International Management and moved to Guatemala to work with Mayan micro businesses and the Inter-American Development Bank. While I was there spent an hour every morning writing a book called Sumo Santa.
Spent three years in Guatemala, the last to finish my Masters in Community Development and Decentralization.
Returned to Canada in 2005 and faked my way into a job doing social impact assessments for an environmental company.
In 2007 my book Sumo Santa is published.
Still enjoy playing lots of sports, especially soccer. Love to write. And if the Fox & Firkin was still around I'd probably head there every weekend.
