Following high school, I attended Salisbury University and graduated with a B.A. in Communications. Thereafter, I worked as a Field Representative for the Maryland Division of the American Cancer Society in Worcester, Somerset and Caroline Counties to fundraise, implement programs and work with cancer patients. After a year and half, I transferred to the Florida Division of the American Cancer Society and served as Executive Director for 9 counties while living in Gainesville, Florida. Then I jumped into the for profit arena and moved to Florida’s capital city of Tallahassee in 1997 to serve as Director of Marketing and Public Relations for a regional cancer center. Tallahassee is where I found my true home! I absolutely love this mid size city and it is where I met the most amazing young professionals, found my best friends, and hooked Jay--the love of my life! Married Jay in 1999 and shortly after accepted a position as Vice President of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. Welcomed another love of my life in 2004 when our son Braden William Foster was born. Shortly after my son was born, I accepted a statewide position and served as Executive Director for the Council for Sustainable Florida before resigning due to health issues. After two years of healing (and learning to slow down), I am now embarking on the most exciting career journey—entrepreneurship! I launched a company, Little Green Footprints (www.littlegreenfootprints.org) in March and look forward to seeing it grow. It is wonderful to work (and it not feel like work!) and still have time to spend with my son, husband, and simply enjoy life! After reading the classmate profiles, it is truly exciting to see so many from this wonderful class grow, prosper, and enjoy happiness! Life is short and meant to be enjoyed! I look forward to seeing many of you in July when I visit my ‘Shore Roots!
