David & Lynn writing: our hard copy announcement of the upcoming centennial weekend was returned recently with Bill's name and address circled and a hand written Deceased. We started searching obituaries and finally found an old one in the Charlotte Observer. Here is the writeup.

I'm so sorry to hear of this. He was always an up personality in school. Happy, and cheerful. We will certainly miss him at the reunion.
Carol Phillips (Boughman)
This kind of news is always sad to hear. Wish I could remember a specific memory, but time has erased all but the memory of a congenial classmate.

Bill was the VFD Chief. We were room mates our senior year. He was my best friend at MPA and I weep for his passage.
Gwen Young (Platt)
Bill was a strong and quiet, a true gentleman, and a good friend. I respected him especially for his kindness. It makes one stop to realize that this is a friend who has been gone for several years and we did not know. Life is fleeting and we must cherish every moment. Bill will be deeply missed at our 50th reunion.

Robyn Doukas, Bill's youngest daughter, just sent me some photographs of her father throughout his life. You can see them in the main Photo Gallery. They were all very small so I have done my best to scale them up so we can see them easier.
Linda Jo Burris (McGalliard)
Thanks for the effort, David. Really enjoyed the pictures of Bill through his life. If you have an address for his daughter, thank her for sharing with us. Was he married to Sharon Ambler at one time? I didn't know that if he was.
