Here's an old CHS 88 site, that Mr. Costello made/started, I believe, but there are some emails here we could use to find some more classmates if you knew them well (the emails may be old tho...) This could be old news, in case some of us have already seen the site:

Well, one positive about your wife leaving (can't come soon enough) is it forces you to go through boxes that you haven't in many, many, years. Amongst my findings from the archives were several middle school photos of some classmates. I was glad to find a few of Kevin Shick in there...I have them all on my profile now.

Those pictures were GREAT, Dominic! Especially the tongue waggling, googly-eyed one!!!! hahaha

Priceless!!!!

I'm not sure what happened to the post that was on here earlier by Randy thanking everyone for their support during his recent home incident, but I just wanted to reiterate his thankfulness for him here (he currently does not have a computer!). I heard from my family connections in Canfield that recently Randy McGraw had a house fire and is now out of a home. There is a phone number and address on his profile if you would like to get in touch with him, and an email address is coming soon. He is extremely grateful for the support people have shown him this past week, and will let everyone know how things are progressing.

Let me know so we can all meet up somewhere at the game. My number is 330-350-1816 or send me a message on this site.

According to the Town Crier, Mark Meshula just received special honors and was awarded "the Medal of Gallantry" for participating in a fire rescue @ the Village Apartments on Fairground Boulevard.

Just thought Mark deserved a "shout out"!

Congratulations Mark!

Hi Everyone,
Been meaning to go through my old yearbooks and post some stuff. My middle school yearbooks are very funny. Can't believe some of the things some of you wrote in there. I did notice while looking up some Cardinal football records online that a certain Tim Miller, Class of '88 still holds the record for most interceptions in a season (caught, not thrown)-10. For those who left Ohio years ago, this is all the more impressive since Canfield now has a fine football program. They were state runners up a few years ago and had a pretty good season last year.
Thought you all might get a kick out of the following Senior Picks of 1988:
Most likely to succeed: Emidio Checcone and Tricia Kunovich
Most attractive: Melissa Antalocy and Joe Peet
Nicest smiles: Deanne Ohle and Brad Constantini
Class Clowns: Kristy Haglebarger and Chris Isaly
Shyest: Lynn Anderson and Ashish Badjatia
Most school spirited: Mike Koenig and Laurie Zebrasky
Best personality: Tony Schleef and Julie Weiss
Best couple: Tom Otterman and Kathy Rhinehart
Most talented: Michelle McCartney and Jason Jacobs
Most athletic: Candie Carr and Tim Miller
Best dressed: Mary Chesmar and Bill Dieter
Nicest eyes: Lauri Rogos and Steve Scott
Class flirts: Kim Chiu and Richie Beshara
Teachers pets: Scot Huebner and Laurel Zurawick
No award for it but the funniest guy I know still is Howard Windt.
Julie W., Tara K., and Jeanne S. never missed a day of school
Richie and Joe Marzano won their weight classes at the lift-a-thon.
Prom King Greg Donchess, Queen Melissa Antalocy; Homecoming Queen: Marni Strasser, King I think was Mike Anderson.
Football went 2-8 under Coach Bayuk but they did beat Poland. Girls Volleyball 16-8. Varsity soccer-9-4-5. Finished with a freezing home playoff loss against I think it was Fitch and was marred by a fight. Cross Country 17-7 (nice shorts, guys), Girls tennis wins MVC title, Wrestling 10-4 and our first state champ, Joe Peet. Boys basketball started 0-3 but finished 20-4. Lost to South in the district finals. Lady Cards basketball went 21-3 (Kristy, Candie, Kathy and Lisa were awesome). Scott Haefke hit .470 and the boys baseball team went 15-9. Lady Cards went 10-6 in softball. Boys tennis 17-3 led by Saleel, Brad, Bill and Tim. Boys Track 10-2. Girls track 11-1. Golf teams went 11-1. The plays were "David and Lisa" and "Blithe Spirit." Of course we did win Spirit Week and the girls won the Powder Puff game, 20-8.
I'm RSVP'ed for the reunion and looking forward to seeing all of you. Until then, take care of yourselves.
-SG

Awesome Glove, that was a serious recap!
Just finished my yearly jaunt through NE Ohio, it seems to get more spread out each year but got ~3 days in Youngstown/Canfield. The new stadium turf looks pretty cool as the cinder track and terribly awful field we had are a thing of the past. Still, it's always cool to just drive around the High School & Swim Club areas, the memories come flying back. Plus, the temps were lovely in comparison to my current home. Glad to hear so many are doing well, we were truly fortunate to attend school when we did and where we did, have a good Labor Day.

Does anyone know about this "brunch" on Sunday? I made a reservation at the hotel so we can go to the brunch the next morning without all the driving (so far just me and Mary...and no, we haven't gone to the "other side" inspite of our bad luck with guys teeheehee)...I don't want to pay for a couple hours of sleep if there isn't anything going on the next morning...I'll just pay Jacci's 19 year old to drive me home...eh, Jacci? :)

*giggles* @ Melanie...

Unfortunately, I am not able to make the reunion, after all. Want me to still send my son? haha

I hope everyone has a blast!

How many are staying at the Hampton? That seems like a nice way to extend the reunion.

Ok I just made my reservation for myself & my girlfriend. I hope more people will sign up.

Well, Jacci, since you decided not to come...I guess your son's off the hook and we will stay at the hotel. (Maybe he can drive if I come visit ya in sunny FLO!!!). We'll miss ya, I was happy that you WERE going to come. Oh well, congrats on the position, that's AWESOME (Is that really a throw-back to the 80s? I still say it!)!!!
Scott, Mary (Althouse) and I (and whoever else we get for a pj party) are staying at the Hampton also. We'll have to have a pre-event cocktail...and old fashion hotel party!!! (Wow, I really miss my San Diego days!!!)

After 1000 miles of driving in 3 states and 3 shows, I'm ready to sleep for about 2 days straight, but we had a kick ass show at the House of Blues! and the after party wasn't too bad either!

Special thanks to Howie, and shout outs to Steve and Dave Davenport fairly surreal seeing you both after all these years.

Johnny Hi-Fi hopes to be back in the Youngstown area in late October, early November, I will keep those interested updated. Last quick note, we did raise about $490 for the charity we are donating all our ticket sales to a group helping the survivors of the Pakistani earthquake that occured a few years back. Thanks!!

word.

Hi Everyone,
Was thinking about some people who didn't end up graduating with us. Let me throw some names out for nostalgia sake.
Steve Roach-I remember playing tackle football with him at C.H. Campbell and he had a broken arm and was chasing (I think it was) Bobby Duda around trying to hit him with the cast.
Some folks mentioned Mike Blazina, Len Lipply, Mark Harshbarger and Carrie Gerlach.
How about Carl Feitler?

Cheryl Bowen (Cutsinger)

Who could forget Carl? Does anyone know where he went after Canfield?

09/27/08 08:49 AM #110

Michele Stack (Reed)

I remember Steve Roach...he told me there was no Santa Claus in the 3rd grade! Didn't Carl Feitler walk on his tiptoes?!

09/27/08 12:02 PM #111

David Ferren

Scott – nice pull on Carl Feitler. To this day that kid may be the funniest person I know. I didn't actually hear this, but Don Sculli (I think it was Don) told me they were in woodshop (I think) and Carl was told there was a knothole in the wood, and his immediate response was "if it’s not a hole, what is it"? Now that’s funny.

PS Scott – your Steelers are going down and this is the week the Browns turn it around. Get your brown paper bag out.

Scott Glover

Just remembered two more...Carrie Householder from like first grade and Helen...? Can't remember the last name-maybe started with H? She was at CH Campbell-then left, then came back. Then left again.
Dave, the Browns still suck. Go Steelers!
I remember the knot/not hole story. With scouts, Skull and Carl visited the Jenny Wade house in Gettysburg. It's a house that was like right inside the battlefield. The guide was showing them all the bullet holes that are still in the exterior walls of the house and said, "Most of these are bullet holes but some of them are knot holes." Carl pondered this and said, with genuine sincerity while looking at the holes, "Well if they're not holes, what are they?" He always thought on a different plane than the rest of us. I do also remember he had a perpetual smile on his face, too.
(Apologies to the Skull if I butchered any parts of this story.)

Does anyone know whatever happened to Carri (Householder)? She was my first friend at school. She lived close to me and I stayed at her house overnight (in her playhouse in the back yard) and had THE BEST butter-laden, salty popcorn I can ever remember!!! I wasn't allowed to talk on the phone or go to people's houses and such for most of my childhood, but I remember being allowed (for some reason) to go to Carri's house. It was GREAT!!! I would love to know what ever happened to her and love to see her again!!! I don't know if she'd even remember who I was...

Julie Schuster (Showalter)

Hey? How about Dani Trio? Does anyone remember her? She was in first grade at hilltop? Don't really know where she went after first grade. She had long black hair and I remember she was very fast and she was a sweet girl.

09/29/08 12:31 PM #115

David Ferren

How about Brook Brieghtenbrok?? I'm sure I butchered the spelling. Hilltop, 2nd Grade Mrs. Davidsons class.

Of course I'd bring up Deepak Gursahanny and that other little brown fella, forgot his name, but smiley smiley all the time, big round eyes I remember, like Carl F (who I think is in Colorado)....Mike Blazina and I were pretty good friends, he left the area, what about Jeff McCarty?

09/29/08 04:22 PM #117

Kim Beale (Prosser)

Carl did walk on his tip-toes! Funny the things you remember.

I just googled Carl Feitler and if he did move to CO he received a $6,000 rebate to install solar panels, runs triathlons and is a black belt in karate.

This has to be him. Look at the picture.
