Oh, Jennifer! I do know who you mean: Lisa and Rosa Stasiak! That Lisa could ROCK high stiletto slide sandals since the fifth grade! Oh, how I admire that!!! Maybe when I turn forty I will be able to walk gracefully in heels instead of looking like Dustin Hoffman in TOOTSIE! ha!

I adored Wendy Sailing! I cried my heart out when she moved! I lived across the street and have fond memories of sleep-overs in her really cool cape cod "attic" bedroom, playing games in her rec room basement and picking out pumpkins in her garden. Her mom was GORGEOUS! I think her dad designed 10 speed bicycles for Schwinn. That household seemed so perfect!

Anyone remember MY crush? Dominic Franzini? Franzagleon? Something like that? NO FOURTH GRADER SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO HAVE SUCH BEDROOM EYES! I swoooooooned over him at Hilltop Elementary!

How about Tina Waller! Tom Wooley, Tina Waller and I used to live in those townhouses and I have many memories of them both!

And how about Melissa Scofinsky!? She actually introduced me to my (now ex) husband in 11th grade!

Heather Christie and her friend-- Ashland, or something? Ashland wanted to beat me up all of the time for being a nerd. Haha Heather, I think, did not benefit from later developed diagnosis' of ADHD! I got along fine with her, tho--- we would both smoke up the CHS girls bathroom and if the teacher came in? They always blamed Heather and never me! ha (and she never snitched! Never! Cool in MY book!) *smile*

Ehrm--- not that smoking is cool IN ANY WAY! I dont even smoke now that I am ALLOWED to. ha

(I just felt I should add this disclaimer.HAHA!!!)

Savita is a doctor I believe in Colorado, last I heard, she was Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains in Denver

Jackie, Ashland Berry was her name. She was a year ahead of us. She was in my brothers class. She was not a very nice person. Her and Heather lived in my neighborhood. They were always in trouble.

Darla, Do you remember the day on the bus when Heather took my mace spray and sprayed it on the bus. Everyone had to evacuate at your stop. Heather tried to get me in trouble for it but she ended up getting kicked off the bus and I didn't get in trouble.

Cheryl Bowen,
Didn't you have a mouse and some babies in your sitcase at girl scout camp? And Mary Chesmar had the raccoons.

Cheryl Bowen (Cutsinger)

Angie,

Yes, I had the mice in my suitcase at Girl Scout camp. My kids love that story. Thinking about it still gives me shivers. And, I HATE to camp now. I don't remember the raccoons with Mary though.

OK People, I'm going to use my "Most School Spirited" nomination from our 1988 class here.

We now have less than 60 days till the big event.
We have less than 60 people signed up that will be attending. If you are reading this than take a moment and update your profile and check that you are going to the Reunion!! Get with your classmate pals and get on them to update also. If this count is true, this will be a sad display of the great Canfield School Spirit that everyone is supposed to have in them.

Now let's go people! We are passed the halftime mark and are down about 140ish people. Let's get our Rally hats on and get some people signed up!! (picture me doing a couple back flips here and yelling into a giant red construction site cone ;)
It's getting to be crunch time...so.. LETS FRIGGIN GO CARDINALS!!!!

10/07/08 01:32 PM #150

Angie Clark (Mraz)

Mike, Good to see you still have the spirit. I agree, we need to get more people committed to come to the reunion. I was unsure if I was going to attend but reading all the messages has really sparked my enthusiasm. Can't wait to see everyone. I have be looking for some of our "lost" classmates. The five or six that I have tracked down haven't returned my calls yet but I will keep trying. If everyone attending the reunion finds just one more person, our number will at least double. I challenge everyone of you to get the Cardinal spirit and help us put together an awesome reunion. Angie

Cheryl/Angie/Troop493,

I do not remember stories of mice and raccoons at GS camp. I co-lead Jenna's troop and I have camped with Kayla's as well (Camp Millwood is gone forever...Wonder happened to "Crazy Kate" and "Suicide Mountain"?).

Anyway, while camping with Kayla, we have experienced skunk and bats...We have yet to Polar Bear swim...and I'm grateful! I have taught the Titanic song to 3 troops (In honor of Marnie's sister, Corrine)!

The decorating committee needs your pictures! Any personal, candid photos that you have from high school (even middle school) will be great. We are trying to include as many classmates as possible, so group pictures are best. Please keep in mind, the pictures are for public display=). We would appreciate if the photos are copied, however, we will return them to you if your name and address are on the back.
Please send to: Melissa(Antalocy)Quirk

Any questions (330) 717-3861
The deadline is 11/10/08. Thanks!!

Wow! In just briefly reading these brings back cob-webby memories of people who moved way back when... How about Mike Harrington? I stayed in contact with him until I moved in 97. He lived in Davey, Florida. Kelly Harrington?? He's your cousin... Any clues as to what he's up to lately? And Gnita Nagpaul? I think she went the same place Savita did. Wow! What happened to Tina Waller? My kids are both in CHS in the 10th and 11th grades. Homecoming's this weekend. Big news last year among students & teachers alike... Mrs. Dance had a baby girl, her first child, at the end of last school year!! My kids had no clue she was even pregnant & I have to wonder if she even knew it herself!! Well, my kids had some of our old teachers who I've given grief to in mentioning that I had them in school & the grim realization sets in that they are on their SECOND generation of teaching kids...

Oh yea... I remember Scott Dunn. He was a glue eater!! Does anyone remember a white haired girl at hilltop with the last name Witherspoon? or a girl with the first name of Cricket? or a guy named David Burson?

Good ones, Heidi. I remember "Big Bad" Burson. I also remember Mike Harrington. Used to hang out with him, Danny and Eddie Policy and Robbie Geletka. Robbie and Mike at CH Campbell decided to throw stones at the janitor's van for like an hour and knicked it all up. I remember they each had to pay $100 to get his van repainted. I thought it was a fortune at the time. I remember Robbie's brothers showing me a copy of the bill. Not too long after that, Robbie ended up at Catholic school. All those guys lived, at one time, in my neighborhood.

Scott, I remember the Policys. The last I saw Danny was in '93 at the Boat House before it closed. He was going to go to law school somewhere in SF. Hastings?

Anyway, here's some other names. If I've missed them in some earlier posts, I apologize.

Charleen Lewis? Took her to prom senior year. She then disappeared. I had that effect on women back then...

Ranju Sangvai? Anyone?

Melissa Siebert? This is old time C.H. Campbell stuff. We didn't move to Dartmouth till my freshman year. Who else?
Lisa Vargo? Pam Panozzo? I used to live up the street from Jenny and Erin Hodge waaaaaayy back.

Thanks for the article about Carl Feitler, he was one of my favorite childhood friends and I always wondered what happened to him. You'd think that sitting at the helm here with multiple computers spending much of my day on the internet I would have thought to Google him!

Well I guess everyone and everything gets spidered by Google and written up in Wikipedia (my two best cyber-friends).

So is anyone else staying at the Hampton yet besides melanie, Mary, and myself?

Need to obtain a "movie" that is 3 dimensional, has sound, smell, taste, and sensation? , send an independant AI bot to locate the torrent and acquire the movie independantly on your new co-processor chip.

oh, here's a good one. have you been framed by your employer, or friends, or the government? Maybe you insulted someone in Washington and are hence labeled a "terrorist" now on trial to be sent to Guantanamo bay, and left to live out your natural life in a cage? This product can help. Simply upload the recorded video of your life (remember The Final Cut?) and submit it as evidence.

For Sale:

Blue 1989 Ford Escort. This car has approximately 60,000 miles on it. It
is a 4-door hatchback, dark blue. The trunk is a good size, and adults
can sit in the back seat without being too uncomfortable. The air
conditioning, heater, and radio all work well. The car is in good
condition, with new spark plugs and wires, 2 fairly new tires (less than
10,000 miles on them), and a fairly new (5,000 miles) fuel pump and belts.
It has an automatic transmission. It has been a reliable car, but we're
moving out of the state and can't take it with us.

Asking $3000 or best offer. Must sell by June 12th.

If you're interested, you can call Sarah or Carl Feitler at 274-6689,

Well, Scott...our room now consists of Me, Mary, Frederica and Jeanne. (I'm thinking we have a bit of a "Sex in the City" scenario happening! *The tv show, for you pervs!) I don't know who else will be at the hotel, though. Does any yet know about the Sunday brunch being planned? I haven't seen anything other than "in the works", but that's mostly why I wanted to stay close by. Nothing like curing a hangover with a little mimosa!!

Oh I watched that movie a few weekends ago with my girl and it was terrible!

It was like a nightmare for me!

I'd rather watch Farscape any day.

Ok Scott, if you're talking about "Sex in the City"...that is a typical male response, but I saw it tonight and it was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! Live on girls!

Time for a new thread, if you'll indulge me. I noticed some folks talking about bus drivers. (Angie, I'm sure you're one of the good ones, now.) Y'all remember Louise who drove the flat front bus, Bus 6, I think it was. She was like Flo ("Mel, Kiss My Grits") from Alice. Had an eight track in there and she'd play our 8 tracks if we asked her. Was great if you got her for your route.
One year in the 90's, my wife and I took a one year leave of absence from our school system in Arizona and taught in Chesterfield, Virginia. Terrible year but that's another story...Anyway, my wife sees this girl walking down the hall with a Canfield Fair red t-shirt on. She stops her and sends her to my room. End up talking to the girl and she says, "Oh yeah, my grandma drove a bus in Canfield. We go there every year." "Really?", I say. "Which driver? I probably had them all at some point or another." "Oh, Freida Fine."
Nearly end of conversation but I fight through the pain and say, "Uh, yeah, I remember her. How is she?" "She died a few years ago." Good, I think to myself, fighting to not perform the jig I'm dancing in my head. We'd all crap when we'd get Freida Fine, Bus 20 at the beginning of the year or even if a bus broke and we had to share a bus. She was the meanest old hag. I don't know how any of us survived. She'd pull the bus over and make us sit for hours sometimes. Good times. Growing up on the bus...
See you all soon.

I agree Louise was a great bus driver and yes that eight track was something else.

Kathy Rhinehart (Krohn)

Speaking of bus drivers...does anyone remember "Lead Foot Mrs. Brown"? My Dad used to put metal posts across the front of our lawn to keep her out of our yard! She drove so fast coming down Neff Drive, she would skid at our stop and inevitably end up in our front yard. We definitely could have used seat belts back then!

10/21/08 08:55 AM #167

Melissa Antalocy (Quirk)

Scott--Ha! I have vivid memories of Mrs. Fine stopping the bus and threatening us constantly. I had Kevin Gibson, Chris Camarada, Denise Dibble, Keith Yansurak and a whole host of others on my bus from 5th grade on. Did you ride that bus? I can still hear the chant of "Freida, Freida, Freida!"

Emidio Checcone

Glad to see the Message Forum heating up again. I didn't realize my bond with many of you guys extends to happy memories of Louise and bus #6...

On a more serious note, a group of us is undertaking a final full-court-press to track down the MIA's in our class. Please take a look at the list of Missing Classmates and forward to John Elias, Mike Koenig or myself any information that can help us track these folks down. That might be an email address, a parent's phone number or a recent city of residence. We would appreciate any and all help on this search.

We also need your help to encourage those classmates registered on the website but not yet committed to coming to the reunion to RSVP for the big event. No more procrastinating! And no excuses. This is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime event, so don't cheat yourself by missing it. You will regret it if you opt to skip...and so will we.
