Mr. & Mrs. Hunter were my favorite bus drivers, and I think Bob/Debbie/David Burkett's dad drove the bus once in a while, he was cool. If you forgot this story, here goes: Kindergarten, CH Campbell, I lived on Pleasant Vally Ln between the Starr's and the Rosko's, and 1 day on the way home from the morning session I got yelled and Mr. Hunter told me to "PUT YOUR BACK ON THE SEAT AND DON'T MOVE!" Well, I did, and proceeded to fall asleep because I had my back planted against the seat and didn't move (sometimes, I can take orders). So, after the bus passes our house and I don't get off, my Mom completely freaks after calling the school and they confirm that yes, I had left the school..as I think most Mom's would. We made it all the way back to the school before he realized I was still on the bus, sleeping like a baby. To this day, my mom & sisters give me sht about that EVERY holiday and the story gets told once again, without fail.

Scott, thanks for the vote of confidence. I like to think that I am a good bus driver. It's funny how the complaints always come from the kids who are in trouble all of the time. I have been very lucky in the last 9 years though .I have had a great bunch of kids for the most part. It's amazing how the kids can touch our lives and leave memories for us just like we do for them. I really enjoy what I do. As for our bus drivers back in the day, I remember Delores and Mrs. Burkley the most . I think they were on our route for all of my school years. No complaints from me on them bot I feel bacd for some of the crap they had to put up with from the Cornersburg brats". Nice trip down memory lane.

Bus driver input- I had Mrs. Saul, yes, Tim's mom, and she always wore an ermine fur coat in the winter, along with some perfectly manicured nails. A sight to behold. Driving with style!

Pre-Reunion Party

Hey all, hope everyone is well!

We have organized a pre-reunion get together at Salty Grog's in Boardman, behind KMart, on the Friday before the reunion anytime after it opens, i.e. around 5 I think.

It's the only place I could find that would do specials after Happy Hour, so when you get there, tell them you are there for the Canfield High Pre-reunion part and they'll give you a wrist band for drink specials...

We know it will be loud (a DJ there) and a little crowded, but it's the only place that has good specials for us.

This is already setup per Jason the co-owner (and Canfield High grad), and if there are any changes we will let you know.

Just an FYI...Michele Stack's father passed away last week so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. He was only 62.

Thanks,

Kathy

Chris, who was computer-challenged today, asked me to post this for him:

Hello! I'm putting together a skit game show for the reunion called "Canfield Jeopardy". Basically, I need descriptions of people or events that can be asked in the form of a question, such as:

"This senior was so lazy for Halloween extra credit that he borrowed a drumstick from Mr. Cebriak, stuck his arm in his shirt and went as the Def Leppard drummer."

The answer, of course, is "Who is Chris Hall?" You get the idea.

I'm looking for good memories--they can be a little embarrassing, but not offensive--to make people laugh. Contestants will be chosen at random with prizes to be given out at the reunion.

I need as many ideas as I can get, so please send them to my e-mail at christopher.s.hall@gmail.com, or you can reach me on my cell phone, 216-312-4208.

Best,
Chris Hall

11/10/08 - Planning Meeting minutes

Attending: Elias,Melissa,Marzano,Kyle,Duda,Tara,Jeanne,Koenig

Still doing our best to contact people to get them involved. Phone calls and emails have been going out for the last couple weeks and will again for another week to get that last person to attend. Please help us out by getting your classmate pals to get online and commit to coming and send their money in immediately!!

Tara will be doing her best to get our Reunion party invitation to air on the local Canfield, Austintown, Boardman channel on Armstrong cable channel 20 for the next week or two.

We are hoping that some people will bring with them some old memerobilia with them from their earlier years at Canfield to display and talk about throughout the evening also.

We will have a couple different donation boxes available during the event also for anyone interested in supporting Canfield Schools and also donations for a future Reunion.

An outline/timeline is still being finalized to hopefully keep the evening going as smooth as possible.

Any other input is welcomed so email anyone listed in the meeting with your ideas. Less than three weeks away!! Looking forward to seeing everyone! Will update again after the next meeting which is MONDAY 17TH at 7:00pm at ELIAS's office. Join us if you can.
Until then,
MJK

CANFIELD JEOPARDY UPDATE

Hey, all.

Another idea hit me. They're rare, so I have to take stock when I can!

If you don't want to shed light on high school stories in front of a crowd, consider this. We can ask the same questions about what people have done since high school.

Example: This doctor would never have asked you how you feel about your mother while at Canfield.
Answer: Who is Joe Marzano, PhD?

Example two: This high achiever now shoots things into space on a regular basis with NASA?
Answer: Who is Brian Roberts, PhD? (I think he's a doctor, too, so I'm giving credit where it's due).

Keep the ideas coming!

Chris

I had a nice surprise in my bank account this morning...since a certain time period has passed with no action taken (someone hasn't cashed the check yet), my check for the reunion/class donation was canceled by my bank and the money returned to me. It's nice to have the cash, but I have a feeling that others may experience the same thing if their checks get canceled as well. Mine was an electronic transaction and canceled by the bank and not myself so they didn't charge me a fee (always nice). So I will pay when I get there rather than try to resubmit the money.

I don't know what will happen if there is an attempt to cash the check now...but I am not going to pay the fee if any is incurred at that point.

At least I now have extra gas money to drive up to the frozen north!

Esp. Dominic I have not deposited the checks as of yet. They are slowly coming in and I would be going to the bank every couple of days. I am going to be making a deposit this week so be looking for the checks to be clearing your accounts soon. Dominic I will pull your check and will get yours when you get here. I hope to see all of you in 12 days and be safe driving.

Thanks

John

John,

Much appreciated for taking care of that for me. I'll be in at some point on Wednesday if you want me to drop off the check early. Also, if you need assistance with anything, just let me know. After working at TCC for so many years, I am very familiar with that place as well. Just let me know.

Hello!

Some of you (including those who couldn't make it) wanted the picture presentation from the reunion so I just uploaded it to my server.

http://www.passionandprofession.com/news.html

It's at the bottom, just right click and save.

See you all in 10!

Asif,

... That was a beautiful tribute! I really appreciate you creating it for us!
How exciting it was to see all the familiar faces from so long ago!
And the tribute to those who have departed is very special.
Thank you so much! :-)

I've got a few pics too from the reunion. Click download to get the HD version.

The video is crappy because Picasa compresses it way down. I will upload it to a server at work in the next day or two so you can see it in better quality.

OK....for those of us that missed the reunion and those of you that had such a blast...let's do a 25th and not let another 10 years pass by.

Maybe not on such a grand scale....everything looked so great!! Maybe just a picnic around Labor Day...an all day event with a bonfire at the end...just some thoughts!

I posted some more pics on my profile. I wish I would have taken more, but...in true form...I neglected to actually USE the camera I brought!!! I brought a video camera too...but did I actually TAKE any? You guessed it. So many memories, so few pics (that should be on my gravestone!). Anyway, thanks Emidio, for putting together such fun events! It was a true success! I enjoyed seeing EVERYONE and I hope to keep in touch with everyone I talked to! Anyone coming down toward Georgia...give me a call!
