Jennifer Zinn De Waelsche

I went to WT from 88-94 starting out as a music major then changing to speech education. I taught at Valleyview Jr. High for 5 years then worked in the yearbook industry for Josten's for another 5 years. I got married and divorced during that time and had to go back to teaching in order to get health insurance. I taught speech, debate, yearbook, and English at Hereford High School for 6 years. I worked on my library degree the last few years there and thought I would stay but they didn't have a job for me as a librarian once I completed my degree. I then moved away from home for the first time in my life because I could only find a job in San Antonio. It was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. I love living here and I met my husband a few months after arriving here in 2011. I've been married for 4 years now and am happily a high school librarian.

Band - Mr. Carriere, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Ferguson.
Although I didn't really appreciate it at the time, I am thankful that Mrs. Moutos was a stickler for grammar.

Hanging out in the band hall before and after school on a daily basis. Band trips. Flag routines. Great friends. Driving my first car - a 79 Mustang that I had to put oil in it every day and it didn't have power steering. Living out in the middle of nowhere (Pullman Acres - halfway between Amarillo and Claude). Having a crush on Bret Capranica way too long. My prom date (William Asquith) breaking up with me the day after prom. It's ok; I've mostly forgiven him.

I still play my clarinet in a community band. I guess I will always be a band geek. I've ridden 184 different roller coasters. I've become a competitive Scrabble player and have even won some money at Nationals.
