"Johnny O", John Osler, passed away March 17 at 7:49pm.. Per his request no arrangements will be made. He is survived by his nephew, Jim Reamer.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Butler University Broadcasting Dept.
Tuesday evening, my uncle, John Osler was taken to Carmel St. Vincent for various symptoms. This afternoon he was diagnosed with leukemia. The extent hasn't been determined yet.
Knowing John, he would rather just best wishes and thoughts on here than take calls at the hospital. He wasn't transferred to a private room until late this morning, so he hasn't had much sleep since arriving.
He wanted to let you know.
His nephew,
Jim.............
- This is John Osler's nephew, Jim. An update:
His health has declined. He's in a hospital bed at home 24/7 but is still able to take visitors and calls. Sometimes he doesn't open his eyes (stubborn) to see who is calling, but he answers as he hears it.
He's not in any pain, and for the most part he's sleeping well.
If you don't reach him, it's OK to text me. (317) 645-7125. It's much easier for me to text than take calls. I'm trying to do some work while at his place, and texting is very much part of my workflow. You're free to text me anytime. I'm up late, and if I'm in bed my phone doesn't notify until I wake it up.
I would talk with him or text me before if you plan to visit. I usually get to his place around 10:30am. He has a nurse that comes once a day. Feel free to visit any time after 10:30am and before 9:30pm.

The Way I feel about the Class of 69
The Way I feel about the Class of 69
Posted Monday, July 4 at 12:01am
A few words from Mr. Spirit
It's hard to believe 55 years have passed since we all walked the halls of Carmel High School.
I have always felt a great enthusiasm for being the last class of the '60's, the Sixty-Niners as so many people referred to our class, then and even today. But more importantly because of the great group of people who we were, and have become throughout our lives.
Not because of social status, or of our work and careers, or everyday accomplishments, but of our spirit that we all have being the Carmel High School Class of 1969. As the 1967 yearbook quoted "Through Carmel High School throbs the heart beat of youth". True, we're no longer young, but I believe what makes our class special is the fact that we still interact the way we did in school even after all our lives' good and bad times, we have never lost the spirit. Our class is so unique because most of us started out in kindergarten, grade school, junior high and graduated together. For those that did not, or have since passed on, their spirit will always be with us. We were...the Pulse of a Generation and will always be! Many people from other schools have been astonished at the enthusiasm we have for our reunions.
We all shared something so special because we had something many young people and high school students don't have today "Friendship..Security..Trust.. The Bywords of Youth".
We had many friendships, no question. We felt secure with each other and most of all we trusted each other to be there, not always hanging out together, but if we lost a parent, a friend, flubbed up on a test, did poorly in a sporting event,we were there as friends to support each other.
We had a great man as a principal in Dale Graham, one of the finest men I have ever known. He was so admired and looked up to because he cared and showed it daily as we passed through the Carmel High School hallways. Eric Clark is another man of this same caliber. Our teachers also cared and and talked to us not just as students but as people first, though we were so young, and we respected them.
One of my favorite lines that was stated in our Senior Wills was by John Osler.."I, John Osler will to Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, my PRIDE of CHS". That is exactly how I felt in 1969 and I still feel today 55 yearsay s later, the Pride of being from the Carmel High School Class of 1969.
On behalf of the 55th year committee, we hope you all enjoyed the special night we had planned for you on Saturday, June 29,2024.
It is with great pride, love and affection we have for our class and for the people you all were in high school and have become throughout these past 55 years.
A very special thank you to our committee members for many hours of dedication and hard work to make our 55th reunion a great success.
ENJOY AND PARTY ON!!!!
Michael Easterday~still just Mike to all our class.............................................

OBITUARY
Thomas Jordan McGoldrick
APRIL 5, 1951 – MARCH 18, 2022
IN THE CARE OF
Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services
Thomas Jordan McGoldrick, 70, unexpectedly passed away March 18, 2022, in Venice, Florida. He was born April 5, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Thomas Edward and Suzanne McGoldrick.
Anatural born leader and athlete, Tom graduated from Carmel High School in the class of 1969 with numerous accolades. Among others, he served as President of Student Council, had the honor to represent Carmel High School at Boys State, and ran the second leg of the winning 4x100 meter relay in the State Track and Field Championships.
Tom attended Purdue University where he received his bachelor’s degree and Master’s of Science in Industrial Administration. He went on to have an illustrious career in computer science and information technology which culminated in his position as Chief Information Officer at Clarke American. During his tenure, the company won the U.S. Commerce Department’s Malcom Baldrige Award for manufacturing excellence in 2001 which remained one of his most proud accomplishments. After 28 years in the corporate world, Tom embarked on a new entrepreneurial challenge that combined his business acumen with his love of animals. Tom and Sue Ann purchased Paws In Heaven and lovingly grew the business to become the largest pet crematory and funeral home in South Central Texas, prior to retirement in 2017.
From a young age Tom was a sports aficionado. After competing as an athlete in baseball, basketball and track, he remained active by running, weightlifting and continued swimming throughout retirement. He shared his passion for athletics with his family as he coached and encouraged his children throughout their various disciplines. Tom followed all sports but particularly enjoyed professional baseball, collegiate and professional basketball, and NASCAR racing.
Tom is remembered as a kind and compassionate provider for his family who inspired others through his wealth of knowledge and attitude for hard work. He was a fan of broad, slapstick comedy who loved a good “clown around.” His big heart and friendly nature made him a friend to many in the community. Our loss and grief are overwhelming.
A local memorial service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Library Room of The Plantation Country Club. A second memorial service in celebration of his life will be held in San Antonio, Texas in the coming months.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sue Ann, children Thomas R (Lisa) McGoldrick, Sarah (Chris) Saenz, Meghann McGoldrick, Chad (Cindy) Brightman, Allison (Clint) Wynn; brother James E. (Carol) McGoldrick; nephew Jim (Brandi) McGoldrick, niece Kelly McGoldrick; 8 grandchildren.

I want to share this with all of us '69ers...a friend of mine said after looking at all the photos from our reunion nights, that she could see the love between us all and none of us looked like we were one uping another. She remarked how everybody looked so relaxed as if we'd been together every day for the past 50 years. Very true observation! That is what we love about our great class of 1969!
A big thank you shout out to Gregg Happe for once again financially supplying our class with another 5 years for our class

Throw Back Thursda
This looks almost exactly like our classrooms did in the old Carmel School....1st through 7th grade. The administrators made a replica of a classroom in the new, modern high school, but somehow it just doesn't have the same feeling that this photo from a classroom in 1946 in Iowa (where Iowa Basic Skills tests were born) gives us.
An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of time, place or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break.
We are lucky! None.jpg)
Thank you to all the classmates who came great distances to be with us for our 45th reunion! No matter how many years have gone by, or how many miles are between us, or who our friends were back 45 years ago, we are all friends now and have become even closer. We grew up in a special time and place which cannot be repeated or forgotten.
We never could get this class to be serious for a picture!
Photo bombs!

I wanted to thank Mike Easterday, Mr. Spirit of Class of 1969, my special guy and best friend, for all the hard work he has done to make all the memory books and picture boards and banners! Oh, the long hours over the past 5 years he has put into making these books from all our school days from Kindergarten thru Senior year at Carmel High School. He loves to create a visual compilation for all of us to enjoy and reminisce over. Many people poured over the books and refreshed their memories of a happy 12 years, I think we all had at Carmel! That really warmed his heart. He is Easterday Entertainment!
I want to thank Merle Edward Kranning for all his past reunion planning experience and the technical aspects of the reunions over the past 5 years for the past two reunion parties that Mike and I have been involved with. Merle also, spent many, many long hours making countless DVD's of our class pictures and events to play at the parties, compiled music for them, selected great dance music, shot photography of the events and without him we couldn't have done it all. Besides all this, Merle is our right hand man when we have a question about anything~Merle knows all the answers or will find a way and he can do anything! So happy he is our best friend.
Christie Smith Waggoner, what an organized and thoughtful gal to have on our team to be our treasurer. This girl is on it financially and doesn't miss a beat! It doesn't matter how many years pass between reunions, she knows what monies we have and takes special care of it for the class! She also thinks of all the things, little but important things that we may have neglected to think of. She stays so calm and brings us back to reality! She must have been an A+ student and is definitely a clear thinker! I have known Christie since kindergarten and it is like no time has ever passed when we are together.
Gregg Happe~he likes to stay out of the limelight but without him, we wouldn't have our Carmel Class of 1969 Website and he masterminded and orchestrated and published our 30 year reunion book about What's Happening In the Lives of Our Classmates of 1969, accumulated from written narratives by our beloved friends/classmates. Thank you so much, Gregg!
We had a fabulous weekend and each night that I looked out on the crowd, my heart was warmed! Thank you all for making this the best class ever at from Carmel High School!
Fondly, Kim Maroon Ransom
