According to the docs from Vanderbilt, after a second biopsy, I have contracted a small case of pancreatic cancer.

They are presently debating best procedure since I had abdominal surgery in March 2000 (liver transplant, due to PSC - Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, which damages and blocks bile ducts and can lead to cirrhosis and liver failure).

They are debating whether surgery or chemo/radiation or all the above.

My previous surgeries resulted in some minor (easy for me to say) organ relocation and has elevated their concern with major arterial proximity.

I heard on Thur., 25 Aug 16 from the tumor surgical meeting that given my medical history, chemo/radiation is the best path of treatment.

My present condition is good with only occasional tummy pain - a 2 or 3 out of ten. I look at it as a new adventure - same as with the liver transplant.

As I was then, I am not worried. Just too dumb I guess. But really, since it is essentially out of my control, I just work at keeping a positive and upbeat attitude.

Joye is kind-of out of her mind with worry, as are my children. But I tell them all - it ain’t up to us - so, just take it a day at a time.

Like Thomas Carlyle said: "Go as far as you can see; when you get there you’ll be able to see farther."
