Went to Western Illinois my freshman year of college and then transferred to the U of Minnesota. My family moved to Minnesota the summer of 1969. Received my B.S.(economics) and Ph.D. (agricultural and applied economics) from Minnesota. Was married the week before I started graduate school and divorced the week I defended my thesis. Graduate school plays hell with a marriage. My daughter from my first marriage is a bankruptcy lawyer in New York City and used to work in the same building where Randy Taylor worked in Chicago many years ago. I often would catch a cup of coffee or lunch with Randy during a week-day when I was town for a conference or seeing my daughter when she was in Chicago.
I miss Randy a lot.
I remarried in 1986 and have two more daughters. The youngest is in Springdale, Utah next to Zion National Park working for an outfitter. The middle daughter is in Brooklyn as a web developer.
The past few years I get back to play in the Randy Taylor Memorial golf outing in September with McDonough, Bolier, Geis, and often see Fischbach. Some of the guys from Crown also play.

The picture was taken in Mexico in 2007 when my oldest daughter got married. I rarely wear a tie and even more rarely wear a tux. Most of you would not recognize me without the picture. I was only 5'2" as a sophomore and 5'8" as a senior. I grew another 4" after high school and put on some weight.
