I got married in September 1998. Happily married with three children and one on the way. Finally gained weight.
I attended West Georgia College for 6 years and racked up 230 credit hours with no degree. During this time, I worked for myself tinting automobile windows. In 1994 I was scheduled to graduate with a degree in Psych. At the last minute after passing the final class (Spanish 104), I was told that I exceeded the attendance policy for that class and could not graduate. That really ticked me off and I never went back to finish. When I can determine why I need a degree, I will go back. In 1994, I opened my own car stereo/window tinting store. I started selling pagers and accidentally became the 2nd largest pager store in the state of Georgia. I built my store on Bankhead Hwy. in Carrollton across the street from K-Mart. In 1999, I was bought out by BellSouth. I bought a bass boat and retired for about three weeks.
I became interested in real estate because my best friend Mickey Garcia was doing well buying houses and flipping them in Virginia. At this time, I had no education, no job, and did not even no what the word "mortgage" even meant. That's when I bought "How to buy property with no money down" by Carleton Sheets. Personally, I think Carleton Sheets is an idiot trying to make money selling books, but I did learn what the word mortgage really meant. I bought my first (investment) house in 1999. I rehabbed it and sold it in 90 days and made profit. I have been buying houses every since. Today I still buy houses and develop land. I am struggling a bit since the real estate market has taken a hit but the bank foreclosures are bringing it back for me. That's the short version.
