Baritone horn.
Served in the Army (infantry) for a few years after school then attended Northrop University and worked at McDonnell Douglas up till 1993 mostly building the wings on the C-17 Globemaster. Started longshoring in 1995 and presently still am a longshoreman.
I still love music and enjoy watching bands play in the several venues in Hollywood.
I would love to have a reunion and meet Mr. Berk and the fellow band members again.
My fondest memories of school was the two years I spent as a member of Carson High's band. The new band director (James Berk) did a wonderful job. Of all the performances I remember most and liked best was the one we did at the L.A. Coliseum. I remember we did a lot of practicing to march in unison coming down the steps onto the field.
One funny moment I remember was when Banning High School's band director once tried to embarrass our band during the playing of the national anthem by repeatedly changing the timing. LOL, he only managed to embarrass his own band. ha..ha.. :)
