Thanks to all who helped with our "mini" reunion last night.  We had a good time and the food was very good.  So good to see all again.  Debbie included me in the thank you and I didn't do anything.  Thanks to all those who did!!

It was great to see you all last night....wish I could have stayed the whole night, but family comes first... we did have a great time talking and hearing a few Beatles tunes when I came back after graduation, though....if you left early, you missed that part, it was fun.  Tina, the coconut cake was delicious, would you email your recipe? I've never been able to make one that's moist like that one was.....thanks to all who did the leg work for last night....mine's not working too good right now as you now....and thanks, Jimmy for waiting on me last night, he and Kim, Kristy and Tina helped me out so much....looking forward to our next get-together.

Thank you so much to those of you who acknowledged my father's death.  This was much harder than I had ever imagined.  You see, I had only SEEN my father 7 times since I was 9 (45 years).  That was when he left my mom and brothers and me.  We reconnected when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and he contacted me weekly for 2 years.  I always thought there would be time to really talk and straighten our feelings out.  Turns out, there wasn't.  Please, for me, don't let another day go by if you have hard feelings with someone or just haven't spoken to them in a long time.  Regret is one of the most awful feelings.  Thanks.  Debbie Holland Phillips

My prayers are still with you  and I understand all too well about taking time now to talk to and not put off spending time with those you love. I learned that lesson when my son died at such a young age. I still put things off but I always try to say I love you often.

So this is for you Debbie, I love you and am so glad we have been able to get to know each other better and become closer with each other and out class. Thank you.

Debbie,

Sorry to hear about your Dad.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of my parents, both gone now.  The loss is with you forever, but so is the memory of your loved ones.  I agree with Kathy, take every chance to tell those you love how much they mean to you.  Life is very precious, and very fragile.  Thanks to all my classmates, I cherish the time I spent with you in our youth, and appreciate your friendship now.  I remember a saying about a rich man, is one who has many friends, yet each one he made feel special.  Hard to do, but worth it, I think.  sbm

Thanks for the kind words, Kathy and Steve.  You are good friends and even though I may not see you or even communicate regularly, you are both very special to me.  The hardest part is that I don't really have any memories with my dad since he left when I was 9.  Seven times in 45 years is not a lot of time to make memories.  It is the regret that is the hardest at not letting him get as close as he tried the last few years of his life.

I promise to get back on the site and get things going again soon.  Just needed some down time.

Debbie (Phillips)....continuing to pray for you during this time....I know that it has been very hard for you. I'm finally doing better after have a lot of complications with this knee replacement. For some reason, we don't heal as fast in our fifties, do we? I've been worried about my daughter who will be having a major surgery in St. Louis in the next week or so. Take care Deb....

How hot IS it?

The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.

Debbie,

If you had not sent that email, I would not have known about your father's death! I am so sorry, Debbie! Please forgive me, but I do not check the web site as I did before the big, 35th reunion.

Knowing how much you always do for others, I hope you truly feel loved on by the acknowlegements you have already received (and undoubtedly WILL receive) from former classmates. I hope that expressions of sympathy continue to pour in to comfort you...even if they're late like mine.

Bless you during this difficult time. It doesn't matter how close your relationship was. He was your father, and you will grieve no matter what. Losing a parent is so very hard, especially losing him, as you did, under such questionable circumstances. Feeling alone in bereavement is excrutiating. I hope you know you are not alone.

Praying for you with love,

Jane

Vicky,

I was so sorry to read that you have had complications with your knee surgery.  You are such a sweetheart, it hurts to think about you in any pain.  I will pray for your recovery and for your daughter's surgery and speedy recovery. Please send out updates, and I will try to be better at checking in on the web site.  I miss hearing from you, but I know we are all so busy!

Love & blessings to you "old" friend, (lol)

Jane
