The poll only allows me to ask questions with a few specific answers. Does anyone want to tell me what your "other" comfort objects were when you were growing up?

Well, Debbie, I have a red bear, Tim. He is 53 years old and I have been known to get him out on occasion and give him a gentle squeeze (he is elderly, you know). Although, he is faded, worn, torn, has no eyes and only half a mouth he still makes me feel better. It really is very funny, because I don't keep anything. I throw everything away when I get in one of my cleaning moods. But I have never parted with Tim.
Tim has stuck with me through thick and thin.Laughing

Never say Never...

Debbie,
I have my pillow, it was just a crushed foam pillow but I only slept on it until the last few recent years when the foam started to become dust and filtered out of the pillow.

When I was little, I had a Chatty Kathy doll, which was the first talking doll, I think. I slept with her all the time. One night my grandmother on my Dad's side, my Mamaw Alston, was babysitting us...keep in mind, she had not seen or known about Chatty Kathy. I guess I fell asleep with the string pulled out and was laying on it, and when my Mamaw laid down beside me, all of a sudden she hears "Hi, my name is Chatty Kathy, what's yours?" She just about fell out of the bed, she was so scared. I just laughed and laughed, and she was just flabbergasted....through the years, she never forgot that, and I reminded her of it many times. She has been gone now for many years, but when I think about the Chatty Kathy episode, it always brings a smile to my face.

I haven't thought about one of those dolls in forever! What a cute story.

I also had a Chatty Kathy doll of of course I thought it was something special because we had the same name. I have even considered buying one now since they have again come on the market or at least until I saw the price, ha ha.

Kathy, I know what you mean about the Chatty Kathy doll. I checked those out on Ebay and it's amazing what they are worth now. I'm like you, I'd like to have one....
