In 9th grade Charolette, Kathy, Debbie, Mike and I would all head to Jan's house to hang out till lunch was over.Debbie Holland (Phillips)
I remember one time he punched me in the stomach. I cannot remember why, but that is what I always remember about him. Maybe it was at Jan's house!Debbie Holland (Phillips)
I spoke with Mike's mom over the week end. I had written her asking for pictures of Mike for the reunion and for the web site. She told me about his death and how very special he was. He has been gone almost a year. He was only "sick" for a short time before his death. She was very sweet. She remembered me from when we lived across the street from her mom on Laurant. I also got the story on why Crickett is called Crickett!Kitty Hughes (Teeter)
One time many, many years ago there were several girls that all told their parents that they were all spending the night with each other and then instead they decided to stay out all night. Now these girls started at Vicky Landrum’s house. We rode the loop, turned donuts at the slab yard and acted crazy. But, the time came when they were all tired and went back to Vicky’s home to sleep. But I was supposed to be at Kathy Barnes home. At that time my boyfriend was Mike Talkington. He was very angry at me for being a part of the fun. The next day I was with my mom and grandmother at Bruce’s grocery in the checkout line when my angry father (and all of you know how my dad was)came into the store and pointed at me and said, “I just wanted to make sure she was with you.” She looked at me and said, “What have you done now?” When we got home from buying groceries my dad whipped me so hard that my mom jumped between me and him. My dad told me that Mike had called him and told him what all of us girls did. In today’s standards this is a mild incident. But to my dad I was a very bad girl. And after that time Mike was no longer my boyfriend!Farrah Boyd (Mike Talkington's Daughter)
I remember one day me and dad were chasing eachother through the house and he hid behind a door and when I came out he hit me on the head with a pizza pan. I miss those days.
