Earl Jack Hunter was born to Betty Vandenberghe (Hunter) and Dwane Schoppman Hunter in 1944.

Earl attended school in Cedar City Utah. At approximately 9 years of age Earl was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which took a terrible tole on his body as he grew up. Earl lived in Kanarraville Utah during some of his younger years. After his parents divorced he lived with his grandparents on the Vandenberghe farm southwest of Cedar.

Earl was always the last one to class but the teacher's never marked him as being tardy. After graduating from High School Earl attended the College of Southern Utah for some time. Earl's knew that he had a short time due to his health so he decided to enroll in a trade school in Salt Lake City to learn drafting. He wanted to become self sufficient and to be on his own. After graduating from his trade school Earl found employment with the Utah State Road Department in Cedar.

Working late one night he wanted to finish a project when it snowed and Earl being the only one at work had to clean the snow from his car before going home. He contracted Pneumonia due to his weakened condition which he never recovered from.

Earl was buried in Cedar City on November 26, 1966.

We have missed Earl and his positive attitude about life. We know that Earl is free of the pain which his body suffered. I miss him but I will never forget the fun times we had together as boys on our grandparents farm, when he could run and play.
