Fredrick 'Fred' Elmo Englestead of New Harmony, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Born in St. George, Utah to Elmo and Josephine Englestead, he lived most of his life in Southern Utah.
Fred loved cars and worked as a mechanic and taxi driver until he was forced to give up the career he loved due to the development of debilitating scoliosis. An active arborist, he spent most of his days occupied attending to his New Harmony orchard. He also enjoyed horticulture, reading and discussing current events with family and friends. Fred was always willing to assist friends in need as he possessed the ability to repair just about anything.
Fred was extremely loving and proud of his two sons, Mark (Eva) of Los Angeles, and Matt (Kimberly) of Cedar City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Savannah, Dustin, Sabrina, Morgan, Madeline, Samantha; his two sisters, Cecil (Glenn) Spencer of Draper, and Florence (Milton) Dalley of Bountiful; as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and all extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by this parents; his grandparents; and sister Judith Ann. Fred was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to all.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 12:00 until 1:00 PM at the New Harmony Ward, 12 North Main Street, New Harmony, Utah. Immediately following the memorial, Compassionate Service will be provided by the New Harmony Ward Relief Society.
