Brad: Becky and I got engaged in December of 1989. In 1990, I went on a mission to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Despite my companion's warnings, Becky waited faithfully for me and we were married in the St. George temple in 1992. In 1993, I graduated from SUU with a bachelor's degree in computer science. I went up to BYU to work on my master's degree, but when I realized that the computer science department was full of geeks, I changed directions. Through a freak series of happy accidents, I ended up being accepted to Julliard in New York where I majored in dance with an emphasis in modern dance choreography. I am now working as an assistant choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance with hopes of being, as my wife calls it, a "real" choreographer next year.
That last bit is a slight fabrication. At BYU, I embraced my inner geekness and received my masters degree in computer science. I've been making video games ever since, working at SingleTrac (Warhawk, Jet Moto, Twisted Metal, Critical Depth, etc.), Microsoft (Amped 1, 2, and 3), and now Disney (Bolt and several unannounced games).
Of course, the products I'm most proud of are my seven children. As I like to say it (right before Becky jabs her elbow in my stomach), we're almost halfway there!
Becky: (This is written by Brad, but I'm sure it's exactly what she would want to say.) After graduating from high school, Brad and I dated quite seriously. We got engaged just before his mission. For two years, I waited faithfully for him, mailing letters and packages and working school into the mix. I graduated from SUU with a bachelor's degree in Foreign Language Dazzlement (or whatever they call it when you take lots of German classes) and even managed to graduate as the top scholar of whatever college the foreign languages are in (note to self: find out what this is called so that I don't embarrass myself so much). Brad and I got married in 1992 and after he finally finished his degree (he likes to point out that he graduated the same year as I did, but really, I graduated early in the year and he graduated very, very late in the year), he dragged me off to Happy Valley so he could get his master's degree in geek studies (where he excelled).
Brad is the best thing that's ever happened to me. He's my own Edward Cullen and Mr. Darcy all rolled up in one package. And even though he's going gray and has put on weight like he's preparing for the Great Famine, I still love him. How many other husbands will put up with their wife's silly shows like American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, and worse, Dancing With the Stars? Yes, he is a total geek, but it gets me free tickets to Disneyland, so I put up with him. He's also given me seven wonderful little (and not so little) monsters---er, children--that I absolutely adore (until about 9 pm or so). (Becky wouldn't say this, so I will: She is a wonderful mother. I love to see her with our children. I'm still not sure how I got so "lucky in love with my best friend.")
