I left on my mission several months after graduation. After coming home, my dad (who taught at SUU) set me up with one of his lab assistants (Ivie). All it took was one date and I was hooked. We were engaged about 4-5 months later and married in November, 1996.
We moved to Eureka, California (near the Oregon border on the coast) to get out and have our own adventure. Sticker shock on out-of-state tuition put me into the work force. I attended the Police Academy and started working for the Arcata, California Police Department. In addition to Patrol, I was also the Network Administrator. I got into school (while still working full time) and got my IT degree. I worked at the PD for about 6 years and started getting restless. I missed Cedar.
My parents decided to go on a mission and asked us if we would house-sit for them. Our chances of buying a house in California were (what we though) impossible, so I quit the Police Department and we moved back to Cedar in 2006. I started working for the Leavitt Group in the IT department.
Garrett was born in 1999, and Reuben followed in 2001. We waited a bit longer between Reuben and the next one, Tobler (2004).
I love being a dad and husband. We'd like to end the childbearing years with two little girls. Some days we don't.
We love Cedar and the great weather (anyone who's lived on the west coast knows what I'm talking about, cept San Diego or Mexico - whatever). We do miss our other home in California.
We home school the boys, and that has been great. We love being able to watch them grow and to spend time with them.
