70th Birthday Bash Photos

Greetings, Classmates!

Happy 70th to all of you, whether you've turned 70 yet or not!

A small but enthusiastic group gathered at Red Cedar Lodge in Wanatee Park on Sept. 5th for a 70th birthday party. We had tons of food donated by attendees and a charcoal grill available, along with a game of "Bags" ("Cornhole"). We all had a great time!! Guess who got lost, driving right past the sign?? Her initials are JK. Better late than never, Jan! :)

Check out the photos in the PHOTO GALLERY.

Ads on this site

Classmates,

I'm sure you're noticing the abundance of ads on this site. We had the site for a year leading up to our 50th reunion, and we paid to NOT have ads. Since the 50th, the committee decided not to pay (over $100/yr.) for ad-free. Now the site is free, but we have to put up with the ads. Since we don't have a never-ending supply of money, it was the only way to go. Sorry! we know it's annoying.

Digital Scrapbook Reminder

Just a reminder that if you would like to view the Shutterfly digital scrapbook of all of our reunions, here is the link. This is free to view:

Should you choose to order a personal copy, that is up to you. I make no profit from it. It is NOT cheap. However, if you are interested, I suggest you wait for one of their regular deals - like "up to 50% off" and/or "unlimited free photo book pages." I would not pay full price. My personal preference is to order a matte finish photo cover (as opposed to glossy) and standard lay-flat pages. The pages will all lay flat when open. It costs more, so it's a choice. Also, I would not order the "deluxe lay-flat" pages as that paper is very thick.

“Bridge” Reunion 2025

UPDATE October 2024: We have received word from Mark Meyocks that plans for the Bridge Reunion 2025 have been suspended. It will not take place.

We’ve received some information from Mark Meyocks, class of ’70 regarding a “Bridge Reunion” for 2025. We told him we’d be glad to post any announcements he has as the event comes together. Here is what he has sent so far:

Frank Wilson ’70 is the Chairman for their next reunion, which they hope to turn into a multi-class event, with the classes of ’68, ’69, ’70 ’71 and ’72. They have received very positive response so far.

The 2025 event is to be midweek, outdoors, simple food, and fireworks. Preliminary discussions have taken place with C.R. Kernals as a possible location. Advantages are parking, covered seating in case of bad weather, security and food service, fireworks capabilities. Concert Choir members to sing Loyalty Chant and Alma Mater, conducted by Chuck Ashford.

Enthusiasm is running high for this mega-event, so we will keep you posted with future announcements here and on our Facebook page. This is all we know at this time.
