Obituary for Connie Joe Johnson
Connie Joe Johnson, 68, formerly of Charles City, IA passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison in Allison, IA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am with a one hour prior visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street in Charles City. Connie's nephew, Father Gary Mayer will be officiating.
Connie was born on December 21, 1953 in Mason City, IA to Dean and Audrey (Kuhlman) Coyle. She attended and graduated from Charles City High School in 1972. Connie was united in marriage on June 28,1974 to Michael Johnson and to their union two children were born, Jesse and Cody.
Connie was an outgoing person and absolutely loved socializing. She worked various secretarial jobs throughout her life but the most recent job she held was at a thrift shop in Floyd where she loved chatting with the morning coffee group. Connie had a vivacious laugh; she was always happy. She was a strong-willed Irish and Norwegian woman but never stayed upset for long and tended to always find the good in people.
In her free time she loved planting flowers, crafts and artwork. Connie was a loving mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Connie will be remembered as a kind and caring person who brought a lot of light and joy into the lives of those she loved.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Michael Johnson; sons, Jesse Johnson and Cody (Jennifer) Johnson; grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Jayden Johnson and Lilly Benson; sister, Chris (Rick) Mayer and nephews, Father Gary Mayer and Brad Mayer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Audrey Coyle and siblings, Clair “Ed” Coyle, Patrick Coyle and Penny Coyle.
