
Richard "Rick" Staudt

Rick Staudt, 61, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, from injuries sustained in a fall while at work. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 23, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee. Burial will follow at Booneville Cemetery.
Rick was born in Charles City, Iowa on March 7, 1954, graduated from Charles City High School in 1972 and attended DMACC in Ankeny. He married Jane Braend on October 20, 1973, in Charles City. They moved to Des Moines in 1973 and later to Waukee in 1997. Rick was co-owner of Superior Construction and Crescent Ridge Mini Storage. He took great pride in his work and his relationships with his employees as well as those he built for. Rick was a very positive, happy and caring family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the family cabin in northern Wisconsin.
Rick is survived by his wife, Jane, his sons, Ryan (Aimee) Staudt and Josh Staudt, both of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Austin, Averie and Grant Staudt; parents, Merrill and Marlene Staudt of Nixa, MO; his siblings, Joe (Pam) Staudt, Tom (Jennifer) Staudt, Tony (Betsy) Staudt, John (Nancy) Staudt, Mike (Pam) Staudt, Tim (Tammi) Staudt, and Sue Ann (Brian) Niehaus; sister-in-law Dianne (Tom) Maloney, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Waukee where a vigil service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Catholic School or St. Boniface Catholic Church.
